I didn't explain anything because I thought it would be too confusing, but now that I think about it I don't need to get into too many specifics.
So, Kris is the one sealing the fountains. I mean, WE'RE the ones doing all the work, but Kris is recognized as the one sealing them, at least.
This is strange when you consider that, in the legend, it's implied that all of the heroes should be able to seal them. "Only they can seal the fountains"
What's made it so only Kris can seal the fountains? (Assuming Ralsei isn't lying about something or other)
Go back to what I said. WE'RE the ones doing all the actual work. WE'RE the new variable. What we're doing constitutes as stealing in Gaster's eyes (assuming he's related to the legend and is the man in the goner maker), because all three of the heroes should be sealing the fountains. The second voice, if it isn't also him, ruined these plans by putting us away in Kris.
I realised all this after noticing the dialogue that appears if you want to leave before checking out Susie's room, pic related is the most important part. Cakes might seem out of left field for the connection, but I have reason to assume cakes represent darkness: Top Chef's dialogue (Like night and day, the cake and the world revolve!), their effects (heals all party members, the darkness levels everyone up), and Ralsei makes them from his cauldron which is probably filled with darkness or dark magic.

I think that, too. Little sponge and all. I personally don't think it's going towards Ralsei's fountain, but that's a solid theory and works with what he said. "(Kris, as you bring Dark World Denizens back here...);(The power of our Fountain...);(Will transform this town more and more.)"
