The first game I ever played was Jackal on the NES, sinceit was two players and I could just fuck around with the controller while my dad did all the work. When I remembered it I was worried it wouldn't hold up since I never hear anyone talk about it, but not only was I surprised that it was a Konami game, it kicks fucking ass. Seriously underrated game. I don't remember what the first game I bought with my own money was. I know Disgaea was the first game I bought on launch day, but my first overall would have had to be on PS1. Maybe Brave Fencer Musashi? It's hard to remember what was or wasn't a gift.

It was unironically Pong, or maybe one of the clones of it. Not sure where it came from. Sometimes I remember my grandma getting it at a yard sale, sometimes it was something my dad had buried in a drawer for years. I was three or four. Couldn't tell you what I thought of the game itself, but I remember being fascinated by the knobs used for the controls.
