Anonymous 04/17/2025 (Thu) 16:48:35 No. 9028
Heard any news from the other altchans?
>>9028 wizardchan is next to dead, as usual. Heard the sharty is being overran right now.
I saw a speedrunner the other day. Horrible creatures.
>>9028 Isn't the soyjak party awful? I can't believe nothing has been done yet. That place is a goonerden, pure and simple.
>>9030 heard some of /co/ is in wizardchan
>>9166 The most active discussion on wizardchan right now is on it's music board. Two or three anons, or wizards, are talking about music. This is the most active I've seen it in the two years I've been browsing it.
Endchan is still just /pol/ ... This is all that's left really.
>>9032 I was about to make this joke except about troons from the /lgbt/ board. It still fits!
>>9272 >This is all that's left really. I just don't get it. Where the hell did everyone go?
>>9343 I don't know, the gacha board here seems pretty busy with that lot.
>>9343 Probably to Discord or some other closed off communities if I had to guess.
>>9413 yeah probably.
>>9343 Actually now that I think about this, most of 4cuck were actual bots and paid posters, so in reality right now the mix of boosted traffic to altchans reflects the true userbase of modern 4cuck.
>>9425 It's pretty split between this site and the sharty. kiwifarms has a few of the posters.
>>9028 Nothing I'd like to talk about.
Why does /v/ seem so fucking formal? Is it rulecucked? I just wanna shitpost /v/ros...
>>9272 >just /pol/ dont forget the absolutely endless e-girl agartha drama... if you want to stare into the abyss
>>9442 This board is for the memey shitposts. /v/ is for the actual discussion of video games.
>>9425 Maybe on /pol/ and /v/, but this doesn’t account for 1/10th of the genuine activity
>>9343 remember how we always said we'd go to taco bell... we never said which taco bell...
>>9343 only a few vg generals seem to have recovered because they were connected with a discord and just organized a new main place to post, every one else is just floating around unsure if they should/shouldn't post i'm guessing there's a lot of people who don't even know this place exists too I mena the last major news about 8chan was it fucking shutting down whatever all this BS is it's bad for all the chans in general, 10-20% of 4chan users will probably never return after this, fuck the hacker with a rusty glowing fire poker
>>9573 My home general made a thread here, but only one other person posted in it, so I didn't bother posting. I don't wanna be one of maybe 3 people in a single general, just seems rude to this place to do that.
>>9166 the most active /co/ is in plus4chan
>>9028 I went to a couple pony altchans day 2, but didn't stay long enough to get the lay of the land. Can't really say I've been here long enough to get the lay of the land either.
>>9573 >10-20% of 4chan users will probably never return after this That's a good thing to be honest. The board already had too many (likely underage) low quality posters, it was impossible to have a slower thread without it getting archived in 20 minutes because we need to have 10 ubisoft nigger threads and 10 gacha threads up at the same time at all times.
(353.08 KB 400x232 kallen_chew.gif)

>>9607 >he thinks the zoomers are the ones that'll stay gone and not us losing even more chill oldfags
>>9442 People are always going to be a bit more formal acclimating to a new place while not fully sure what the right rules or culture is. I think things will relax a bit in a week or two. I think things being a bit more serious and genuine is good that said. There's room for shitposting but 4chan in the last couple of years went far beyond that line
(2.11 MB 640x640 1653721646898.gif)

>>9028 What I wanna know is where /tg/ went.
>>9343 I think mainly people just grew up, I mean these types of imageboards were mostly populated by zoomers from which grew up and moved on.
>>9431 >the sharty why would anyone go there, I can't fathom having any kind of discussion there, hell you can't even shitpost there because they're that fucking deranged.
>>9635 I'm not sure really. I did go to the sharty when 4chan first went down. Stuck for about a day until I realized you can't have a serious discussion on that site at all. So I came here. I think the people still on the sharty are just shitposting in retaliation.
>>9635 >why would anyone go there india is range banned on there
(139.27 KB 500x382 1344433710357.png)

>>9442 /v/ here seems equivalent to 4chan's vg, and this board is 4chan /v/. And speaking of vg, it's kinda funny to me how easily many generals were able to abstragate from the original site, rooting themselves into whatever nearest alternative they could find at short notice. I've seen many familiar generals on /v/ and /gacha/ and they seem to be going at full force.
>>9343 Deus archive is somehow more active than all altchans combined right now. There's a thread with close to 30k ghost posts on /a/
>>9695 I feel bad for 8/v/, all the generals being made, despite someone making a vg board yesterday.
>>9702 Yeah. I wouldn't wish that cancer and ritualposting upon my worst enemy.
>>9723 I'm from vg, but I get ya. I wish people would properly use the site.
>>9671 WTF bros I love the Sharty now
>>9573 >whatever all this BS is it's bad for all the chans in general, 10-20% of 4chan users will probably never return after this It's great for chans, because it is distributing people and getting them to explore new places, and maybe even create more new places. Centralization is bad. Centralization is vulnerability. Look at the halfchan leaks, the whole place was controlled by a cabal of troons. As for the 4chan users who won't return... those fags are probably on reddit right now, regurgitating memes that they probably don't even understand. I say this was a boon, and I am enjoying it.
>>9737 >i love the place where the administration grooms kids yikes >During the spring and summer of 2023, a server was created by some lurkers and a sharty janny who groomed a minor into killing a cat, drawing a swastika on her belly, cutting and burning herself, and other stuff. The 'cord dubbed the footage of these groomings "mao's destruction". The server did these actions in the name of /soy/ and gained close to 300 members. as per their article on Discord on their wiki
>>9749 Same as cuckchan pretty much
>>9743 >those fags are probably on reddit right now, regurgitating memes that they probably don't even understand Good, if this keeps up then the 2015 election tourists might leave forever.
>>9767 Possibly the main silver lining of the whole thing. Elections fags are gone.
>>9702 The joke is YUGIOH being the only nonvgeneral that actually operates on vg (even though it's not exactly Master Duel) >>9743 It's so weird not seeing people constnatly shit and backstab on each other with hypertoxic shitposts and actually enjoy stuff
anyone know where the /tv/ fags are i miss the shitposting
>>9771 Some are on /vhs/ from what I can tell.
>>9771 /tv/ is on sharty
(3.78 MB 374x356 1699779708816808.gif)

>>9028 I went into 8kun to rescue lost anons but holy fucking shit, it's a fucking sewer over there and any anons sticking around from 4chan belong there. Glad those of you who didn't go there stuck here. 7chan's pretty upset about the influx of posters though.
>>9431 >kiwifarms has a few of the posters. I really don't get that one. Putting the average user being a hyper-puritan American protestant almost as far up their own ass as the subhuman "mods" they're laughing at aside, the site's format is just the complete antithesis of anonymous IBs.
>>9782 Some people are desperate for a place to say nigger that has activity.
>>9573 Honestly if more people don't come back to 4chang, maybe we actually have some decent discussions. I hope the hack causes more shitposters, bots, shills, etc to move elsewhere
>>9837 >I hope the hack causes more shitposters, bots, shills, etc to move elsewhere That's probably what will happen desu. Even in the worst case scenario, if 4chinz doesn't recover, the majority of the userbase will be here on what is essentially an improved version of it. Right now the traffic is much lower, but in the coming weeks we'll get more and more migrants. The global PPH of this site is already a few hundred up from what it was just yesterday.
>>9610 >zoomers rent free unc 💀💀
>>9771 sharty
(32.52 KB 680x535 1744585016020380.jpg)

>>9607 >That's a good thing to be honest. Xitter spam, reddit spam, marketeer spam and gcj raids are not going anywhere, they are going to fucking increase the moment site goes up.
never browsed /v/ on 4chan because it seemed like too many zoomers (like the ones at the sharty). this board already seems refreshingly not like that.
>>9028 zzzchan /v/ is still doing fine. They making their own oldschool gaming magazines now, because the current shit sucks. They've completed nine magazine issues so far. First 8 issues: https://zzzchan.xyz/v/thread/266053.html#266053 Ninth issue: https://zzzchan.xyz/v/thread/266053.html#269491 It's not bad tbh.
>>9885 I like the focus on quality, but the gatekeeping on how you didn't use this specific lingo or didn't do these specific things when posting is a bit annoying. I understand gatekeeping so I can't really fault the native anons, but it falls apart a bit when you've been so massively overrun. I've reiterated this sentiment a few times, but "lurk moar" doesn't really work when 90% of the population is turbonewfags.
>>9844 Why don't 4chan staff just use an opensource image board like LynxChan like 8chan uses? It's modern and probably more stable than the old one. This would be the perfect time to implement it.
>>9908 tbf lynxchan is a bit uggo despite all the features I mostly prefer the old UI but I was also never captivated by 4chanX
>>9892 sharty's opened up brand new board-ghettos thankfully so we're all transplanting our chanon culture there no zoomer browbeating necessary
>>9573 Pretty much all of /vt/ returned, but they're split between a boeard here and an a whole different imageboard.
/int/ bros where we at?
>>9028 By the Nine Divines!
one more rum ere bed I'm playing Nioh -- it's quite good so far; I generally have a tsundere relationship with "soulslikes", so for me I feel this is a game I can enjoy.
>>9969 Sharty. You can try to convince them to revive the /int/ board here but /int/ is low enough quality that it feels at home there.

I really want to know where /g/ went. Been searching everywhere.
>>9771 tvch.moe
>>9771 It's /t/ here nigger
(3.67 MB 800x533 lain dance.gif)

>>10840 They went to Lainchan most likely. That's the only place I've seen with a similar level of discussion.
(106.29 KB 1708x868 IB details for searchers.png)

Anonmous on kissu started making this
>>10935 I just checked 7chan's video game board. Holy shit is that place dead.
>>10898 Thanks, anon. I had completely forgotten about Lainchan. Looks like a few /g/ refugees are actually gathering in the technology board there and discussing how to make it a new home for /g/ veterans. Still very few refugees tho, board is still moving very slowly compared to /g/ and not feeling like it yet content- or vibe-wise. Just like me, I guess many old /g/ regulars haven't found it yet. No one there cares because the board was nearly dead at about 5 posts per day on average (thought that's still a lot livelier than other altchan tech boards that seem to be all completely dead)
As it stands I'm gonna have to go to multiple chan's for different interests...what the fuck, and this does seems like the top Vidya board.
>>10935 The only thing that matters is the number of users. I come to these places to bump my opinions and shitposts against a wall of anonymous retards, but it doesn't work when the wall is 5 bricks.
>>9030 The jannies on sharty are worse than 4chan tranny jannys, the new admin who took over after Kuz, is some /pol/ crusade larping christcuck twitter faggot who hates loli and coffin
>>9573 Its more that a lot of generals had Rentry, which they used to communicate/directs anon who have any brains
>>10935 Tohno isn't even on this chart, must be because all 3 habitual posters are mods and they can just bully away any newcomers who dares say something they disagree with. Circlejerk Central
I know /vr/ was one of the slower boards (definitely the slowest vidya board, in any case), but I'm disappointed at how few of us went, well, fucking anywhere. As far as I can discern, there's only a few here, taking refuge in a singular slow-moving thread, and maybe the Doom thread as well.
(251.26 KB 700x394 fetchimage.jpg)

>>11087 A portion of /vr/fags were probably mostly crossposters mainly on other boards like main /v/ (picrel). A sizable portion I'd wager actually plays games, so there's that. I hope you guys can get something going soon, though.
>>9889 This is just the kind of thing that I miss from old 4chan: shitposty, yet relatively high-effort OC made just to have a giggle. Thanks for bringing attention to this.
Where did /a/ go? Do they have their own alt chan?
where the FUCK did /vp/ go? an entire board which behaved like a general. how on earth could a community that autistic just disappear?
>>11152 /v/ has a /vp/ thread, and the /vp/ board was made/brought back yesterday. barely has any posts on it however.
>>11152 They probably fucked off to Serebii.net
(367.01 KB 1000x1298 Art_of_Nobuteru_Yuki_B_14.jpg)

>>11087 >>11090 /vr/ was pretty much the only videogame board I used because at least it had a somewhat more mature userbase. /v/ is unusable if you actually want to discuss games with other people instead of calling them transgender for liking SlopX5000 instead of SlopY4000 or something. Plus, truth be told, you need to have some kind of basic defect to not only play modern games, but also enjoy them and actually look forward to new releases. For instance, the Elder Scrolls General on this board's /v/ buries any actual discussion of the games under unceasing gossip about the latest awful-looking UE5 "remake" of Oblivion. Where the hell is the oldhead community mang
>>11188 On the regard of the Elder Scrolls, give us a break. It's been 14 years since Skyrim, and 10 since ESO. We're dying for something.
>>9343 To touchgrasschan
>>11190 I understand the impulse, but just the screenshots themselves already look unbearable to me. It's like all modern games, visually bloated and overdesigned. You need to be careful because the light at the end of the tunnel could just be an oncoming train.
>>11199 Naw, I got what you were saying, but when it's been so dead, any news is something.
(273.37 KB 1000x1312 Mutsumi+Inomata+-+25.jpg)

>>11202 Yeah I know what you mean. Regardless, I think it's already indicative of a broader tendency with modern games. The way things are going, I venture to say that the industry is in its suicidal phase and new releases will slowly stop appearing. See how you get a remake instead of a new entry? And its the same thing in other franchises. I can't think of a single new game worth playing on the current consoles. Instead you get re-releases of Dark Souls, Demon Souls, Silent Hill 2 and so on. As games become more and more industrialized, creativity dies and costs of production become prohibitive. Old games will become more relevant than ever.
>>11209 You're 100% right, and that's sad to think. The only two games I can even see myself giving a slight fuck about and remakes. I just find myself playing games from a decade or older. Nothing new really grabs me. Maybe I should check out /vr/ if 4chan ever comes back.
>>11214 Are remakes*
>>11139 smuglo.li
>>11214 That's the great thing about retro :) when you have nothing to look forward to, you can always explore the vastness of what was left behind. And in my experience /vr/ was always a decent place to find stuff to play.
>>9749 Damn. Would you say consequences were never the same for her? (newfag)
Where is 4chan/o/ ? I can't find the motorcycle discussion anywhere

(510.16 KB 465x541 Pidge.PNG)

>>11292 I'm also looking for them but not really in any rush as long as I have stable 3.7 sonnet. /lmg/ is over on metachan but the site looks honeypotted.
I fell out of altchans when the OG 8chan got nuked. Now I'm finding out it came back as 8kun but it's dead as fuck and they don't even allow loli anymore, and then this new website also called 8chan came out of nowhere and dwarfed the original in popularity. Can I get quick rundown on the lore?
>>11322 Long story short <2019 >Jim starts up 8kun after 8chan died, was the same site with most of the same posts >goes well for awhile <2020 >huge falling out with /v/'s moderation team over his capitulation to the Qboomers (this is when they banned lolishota) >other remaining pre-QAnon boards flee >8moe is born <2025 >4chan goes down after a brutal attack from the sharty >anons that can find 8moe use it as a bunker >8chan achieves its highest user numbers in probably a decade There is much more to this history and it wasn't this linear, there are other post-8kun sites and not all 4meme refugees came here, but that's the basic outline.
>>11188 > /v/ is unusable if you actually want to discuss games with other people instead of calling them transgender for liking SlopX5000 I see a lot of people say this, but I got a lot out of /v/ in the threads I've been in
Lets get this straight. Before the hack who was flooding /v/ with the forced Jack Black memes? Because Im not seeing that anywhere else so it had to be the mods or spammers approved by the mods. Which brings the question that 4chan has been becoming dumber by the year not because of zoomers but because of the mods encouraging low effort shitposting
>>11352 Jack Black spammers are, or were, on the sharty.
>>11333 >2020 Wait, what happened there? I know basic stuff about Qanon but I had no idea it affected 8kun. How and why did it lead to banning stuff and cause people to flee? Sounds like a takeover or something >>11350 You must have better luck than I did then...

(12.14 KB 128x128 bongbonk.png)

>>11374 There was plenty of good threads discussing good games. I dunno man, obviously I saw shit, but I've never understood the people who go on and on about it being ONLY shit >Look Outside threads >UTY threads >Ruza threads >lobcorp threads >SL threads >snootgame in general >Deadlock threads >SoP threads >EBF threads And that's just the major ones I can remember off the top of my head. There was lots of good little threads about lots of different little things, you know? I've gotten much in value from /v/ and the games I've been exposed to through it. Even the way the one AI webm of jack black with the torch becoming a staple in any given minecraft thread was, in its own way, irreplaceable. I hope this place can provide the same sorts of things too if 4/v/ doesn't end up coming back.
>>11374 After /pol/ banned QAnon circa 2017, the Qboomers moved to 8chan. They followed over into 8kun, and had huge influence over the site. I'd reckon they made up between 40-60% of the userbase. The Q people were hyper paranoid about Satanic billionaires eating children, so naturally they demanded Watkins ban cartoon porn. That's probably why he did it. I'm simplifying it by saying "he banned loli and everyone left" because that's not quite true, a lot more happened there like site staff removing Mark from /v/ and Mark leaking private messages showing that Jim didn't actually care about the site outside of Q, the most famous quote from those leaks Jim's "fuck /v/ delete /v/" which has become a minor meme here since. There was also a huge amount of animosity towards Jim building over how hard he sold out the site to the Qboomers. You cannot believe how liberating it felt to come to 8moe and finally be rid of the Q schizos, they were a plague.
>>11374 When Moot banned Gamergate on 4chan many moved to 8chan 8chan died after the church shootings and came back later but never recovered When 4chan shut down /qa/ they formed the Sharty and the Sharty shut down 4chan
>>9343 most 4chan traffic these days came from phonefags the usual apps like clover/kuroba and so on don't work with this site
>>9781 Surpised enough people even knew about 7chan to flood it. I went to check if 1chan got any new train autists only to find it shut down or moved address.
This whole even got me wondering, was there ever a site with more open hostility between the staff and the userbase? I can't think of anything.
>>11435 Most forums are like that. I used to post in one with little no moderation which was like 4chan with usernames until the owners decided to bring in advertisers and that the old posters where a nuisance because we were gatekeeping fresh income (new users) I quit the moment they started to erase threads and the whole thing died shortly after Well, what my blogpost meant was that site owners love money and hate users who get in the way of more money
Even fucking downdetector has had increased traffic since some anons decided to move there. It's almost at 50000 posts
>>11392 >>11391 Fascinating. I had no idea any of this went down. That whole Q psychosis fucked a lot of people up.
>>11209 Here's a trippy thought; pixel remasters or 3D remakes of most the NES catalogue. It's not just games either, this is happening more and more in TV and movies. All the ideas have begun a drain-swirling feedback loop that starts in 1980 and ends with 2010. Nothing new, everything marqueed to fuck.
>>9343 i think most rw types on 4chan went to shitter and other normie places. it was already absorbing a lot of the userbase because of how much its loosened up its rules and 4chan had a 900 second timer. lw types just scattered to places like leftypol, lainchan, and normie online spaces like reddit x bluesky etc. 4chan had a split of rw and lw anons but i think 90% of the lw anons on boards that were dominantly rw were just a blend of shills, disproportionately outspoken schizos or bots. >>11415 bingo. and also the site itself is poorly optimized for mobile web browsers. almost all of the altchans have this problem and the ones that don't i'm glad are dead because the owners suck. this is the biggest reason why you won't see a big spike in users on the altchans. >>9634 ive ran into 4 anons i remembered from the first few years of 4chan so far.
>>11747 this place's mobile version suck? damn, i've read posts early on that the mobile version was an improvement lol
>>11747 I've been saying for a while that 4chan's post quality would increase massively just by making it harder to phonepost (something they kind of did with the 900 second timer). Of course it also means far less traffic, but I'm ok with that. You're much less likely to put effort into posts while on a phone.
I miss fringechan.
I've noticed that anyone who documents the sharty becomes corrupted by it. KF started off calling them retards, now they're fans to the point they prefer sharty over 4chan. ED has a positive article unlike other sites and started fucking calling pages "gems". Hell, the whole thing started when anons went to laugh at the retard who invented the jak duels ended up being corrupted by his insanity. What the fuck is up with this?
>>12077 Brainrot
>>12082 How do you avoid brainrot, anon?
>>12085 You can't. It's the end goal of all internet forum/imageboard use.
(115.53 KB 680x649 1671294402280763.jpg)

>>10941 Doesn't help that Lainchan has a very different overall culture than 4chan, no one really rage baits and they value going outside and only posting when you have something relevant to say. Surprisingly people know that they need to lurk before shitting up the place
>>12077 It's dumb fun. Kinda how things were years ago. You get to call other people mean names and post random funny cartoon faces. Can't do that anywhere else without getting jannied immediately.

>>12073 eternal summer has finally ended. i don't miss them either.
>>9343 I liken it to something going wrong at work, to the extent no production can be done at all. Everyone shows up in the morning, but are told they have to hang out in the lobby or break room until further notice. Some chitchat, some fuck with their phones, most keep shuffling around a little wondering how long they're going to be standing there holding their dicks. Will they get told to clock out and go home? Will management manage to unfuck whatever the problem is? Maybe it's not even that complicated; it could just be like the power went out for several days, while you sit in the dark for lack of anything better to do. What I'm getting at is that nobody went anywhere, but they're standing around in a holding pattern without doing anything. They might be here lurking. Mostly though, I suspect they're playing vidya or watching TV, and refreshing 4chan several times a day until something changes.

>>12501 >refreshing 4chan several times a day until something changes Hello me
>>12501 Yep, that's me. It was two days before I checked other sites to figure out what happened, I just thought it was the site shitting itself as usual.
>>9699 What is the ghost post userscript people use these days, if you don't mind me asking? I used to use PPE but it stopped working with Firefox and I was too stubborn to move to Chromium.
>>12430 Funny image, but you dont know jack if you think trannies and feminist didnt use the internet in the BiP (Before iPhone) times. They just werent around you, the corporate internet has pushed us into smaller and smaller places, forcing people that hate each other to be together. However those BiP trannies had to hop thru the same hoops as the rest of us, so they formed part of the community in a more natural way.
>>11087 I frequented /vr/ more than /v/ and it's a shame that we didn't organize a bunker.
>>11435 SomethingAwful had entire offshoots where the point was to harass the mods and dox them. I recognized a few of its posters on KF. I think the reason why the moderation on 4chan was so secretive was because of that kind of stuff. moot came from SA after all.
>>12556 I'm sure they'll figure out this place exists eventually. 4chan has only been down for 5 days. I think a lot of people are probably just waiting it out still. It isn't looking good though.
>>9695 vg was always a containment board v here is just v but for people burnt out from shitposting stop trying to meme our v into your containment board
>>9973 only 8 divines around here
