A safety report indicates that, on average, traffic fatalities decline by about 7 percent in those areas in which strict laws requiring drivers and passengers to wear seat belts have been passed. In a certain city, seat belt laws have been in effect for two years, but the city’s public safety records show that the number of traffic deaths per year has remained the same. Which one of the following, if true, does NOT help resolve the apparent discrepancy between the safety report and the city’s public safety records? (A) Two years ago speed limits in the city were increased by as much as 15 kph (9 mph). (B) The city now includes pedestrian fatalities in its yearly total of traffic deaths, whereas two years ago it did not. (C) In the time since the seat belt laws were passed, the city has experienced a higher than average increase in automobile traffic. (D) Because the city’s seat belt laws have been so rarely enforced, few drivers in the city have complied with them. (E) In the last two years, most of the people killed in car accidents in the city were not wearing seat belts. http://forallx.openlogicproject(Please use archive.today)/ https://(Webm or) USE https://redirect.invidious.io/playlist?list=PLKI1h_nAkaQq5MDWlKXu0jeZmLDt-51on
>>28569 >city >seat belt law Already a retarded question not worth answering, as that isn't their jurisdiction.
>>28604 It's a hypothetical question.
>>28569 Seat belt laws don't really prevent deaths in cities cause speed limits are <50mph 99% of the time, and car fatalities correlate to high speeds. Seat belt laws really come into effect on freeways and highways
>>28630 You are supposed to work with only the information given in the text to solve the question, and not bring in your own knowledge. Hence why it's a logic question and not a general knowledge question. It's a hypothetical question, whatever the question tells you is true in this hypothetical universe is true.

>>28569 > fatalities decline Why should fatalities be a concern? The human race is far from endangered
Who doesn't wear seatbelts in 2025? That's almost as retarded as smoking.
>>28569 >>28638 >>28618 I can't get this link to work, OP >http://forallx.openlogicproject(Please use archive.today)/ but I am curious to answer the theoretical question(s). Can you fix? Or tell me whee I'm going wrong.? I don't think any of the knuckle-draggers so far ITT have even tried to open it
>>29650 (cont) >*there* First thoughts - there's very few conclusions that can be drawn from the data provided. For example, the data talks about "traffic deaths" and "car accidents" without indicating if they are the same or not. All of the data relates to the recent two years, but there have been significant changes in that time, with no comparison data from before the 2-year change point of seatbelt laws and increased traffic
