Kid Icarus Uprising Anonymous 04/19/2025 (Sat) 18:51:51 Id: ce76f1 No. 1154617
Literally "Lightning in a Bottle: The Vidya". How come it never got a sequel or a remaster? Hell, not even an indie spiritual successor exists for it.
Lovely game. I think the controls filtered a LOT of people, particularly those who didn't even pick it up and just read that the controls are challenging. Each person can probably find a comfortable way to play it but it's definitely more cumbersome than anything else on the system. For that reason, it should have had a port by now, and I'm baffled why Sakurai and team never pushed for one. I've not tried emulating it but it has a breadth of content that will last anyone a while, particularly the difficulty chasers who want to be able to do a 9.0 (or 9.9? I forget) on every stage and then do the autism of weapon combining to get ideal stats. >we have a captcha now sad, but I guess necessary if spambots arrived
>>1154617 It was made by Sakurai and a team assembled strictly for the game. It was never intended to have a sequel before it's 25 year limit. We've still got like 12 years to go

Ah yes, the game with Sakurai's edgy emo OC

Favorite weapon type? I couldn't help but rely on the Darkness Bow as I had a really strong one, and I know some GameFAQs review praised Orbitars for their versatility back when the game was new.
>>1154617 >Literally "Lightning in a Bottle: The Vidya" You sweet sweet summer child. The entire industry knows what a juggernaut of a developer Samurai is.
>>1155111 >For that reason, it should have had a port by now, and I'm baffled why Sakurai and team never pushed for one. Might get a Switch 2 remake from Bandai Namco. Samurai (who's stationed at BN's studios now) sort of hinted at it/ joked for someone to make it in his Kid Icarus development recap video.

Viridi BEST Girl!
>>1154617 Would Switch 2 mouse controls be good enough to replace the Touch Screen for a remaster?
I still don't know why the FUCK the Federation Force devs didn't use a control scheme similar to this game's. Or why Treasure never ported Sin & Punishment to the 3DS. There are a lot of whys associated to KI:U. Alright game though.
>>1154617 I didn't like the flying bits
Who knows, maybe Switch 2 might get a port, thanks to the mouse controls. It would be pretty sick. Though I doubt we'll see it until some time after Kirby Air Riders gets released.
>>1159433 The entire game is about how the gods are all turbo-retards that drag humanity into their petty bullshit, Palutena included. Viridi's just the only one besides Palutena who at least has a relatively understandable motive beyond JUST being a complete cunt.
Coming in the early life of a console that underperformed early in its life along with a control scheme that made the devs include a plastic podium so your hand wouldn't hurt while aiming with the stylus didn't do it any favors. Surprised no indies have taken inspiration.
>>1154617 i dropped this game once i was done with the story cause i didnt want to break my 3ds lol
>>1163066 Smash 3DS did more damage to my sticks than any other game did, I had to drop that out of the same reasoning. Never was a fan of pressing the face buttons to jump instead.
>>1163605 I actually played a fuck load of smash. what ended up fucking up my shit was monster hunter though. i had to open my 3ds and took out this little piece of fabric that was bent below the circle pad, it was making it unplayable. i probably could have straightened it out or something but i'm sure it would've happened again.
