>he won
Would you say that someone who never leaves the house without an umbrella just in case it rains and one day it really does rain, has won?
I know what i'm about to say is a real fucking downer and kills a lot of the "magic" of vidya development but i feel like it's necessary. Every single one of your favorite franchises is in development right now, in one way or another. Maybe only in the concept stage, maybe only a spin off or reboot or remake and 90% of them will be scrapped before they even make it into alpha. So yes, you can absolutely cream your pants about a new FalloutEffectGateEvilCell and you wouldn't be wrong. Just think about it. Microsoft scrapped Scalebound when it was 80% done. Remember Mitsodas VTMB2? Paradox scrapped that project and, if TCR hadn't convinced them in their pitch, they would have killed it for good and cut their losses despite the game having been in development for 5 years. AAA Publishers would rather cancel a game they had already spent an 8 figure sum on than let the devs finish a game they see no future in.
