You ever had a second playthrough change your opinion on a game? I just did. I realized 2 days ago I had never done a retard run of fallout 1, so I did. Fallout 1 is still an amazing game but all my other playthroughs had a tough beginning but easier endgame. This retard with a knife though was easily cutting through rad scorpions and raiders like it was nothing. It wasn't until later when I tried to fight supermutants that the problems started. Even then the knife wasn't really the problem, it was more about me getting 1 shot by gatling guns. It did make me wonder about a lot of things. I do not think it is possible to beat the game 1st time as a retard. I have no idea how you would know without meta knowledge that the cathedral is where the master lives. It was also this playthrough that I found out that drugs can stack. You can take multiple mentats and just be a normal person until the drugs wear out. That does kinda go against the spirit of the playthrough but it did allow me to speak to Harold properly. You can also just take 2 rad-x and be immune to radiation. Would have been great to know before I lost an hour of progress to instant death radiation. I am also amazed by how much dialogue they wrote for the low intelligence players. Some of it I assume was intended for players who were using drugs and got their intelligence lowered. Even then though I was seeing unique dialogue even up to the final boss. I was expecting a bit more of a speech from a man who just lost everything to a fucking idiot with a sledge and a rocket launcher but having anything is already good. Now I am just wondering if I want to replay 1 again or should I try playing 2? I have tried 2 before and it never grips me like the first game does.

>>1117623 It's not that bad. Also, it goes for sale at $9.99 (and sometimes $7.99), so wait gor the next one (June 26). And then, there's also a free week every october too
>>1117623 I was honestly enjoying it, but had to stop playing due to performance issues. My fps would just drop to unplayable rates outside of the most empty areas, even though my card and cpu should have been more than capable of running it at 60+. Classic Bethesda design.
>>1110533 Crazy that someone dickriding Todd Howard would say that.
>>1068576 No. If i didnt like a game on the first playthrough then i conclude i didnt like the game and move on. I only replay games i liked on the first playthrough and if they have multiple endings.(if they have only 1 ending then i completed the game and theres no point in replaying it even if i liked it the first time the 2nd time would just be boring without anything diffrent) I dont play it over and over until i make myself like it. But maybe its because i pirate everything so everything is free2play for me i dont have to make myself like it so i dont regret the purchase because i didnt buy anything i just downloaded some free game i can just move on to another game for free.

>>1117623 Started about a month ago and at least for two weeks I really enjoyed it. If you love fallout and exploration and can get it on discount it's totally worth it.

>>1068576 Yep, replayed Fallout 4 after playing 1, 2 and NV. Went from thinking it's a boring Skyrim with guns to despising its guts.

>>1118224 HOLD RIGHT THERE
>>1117720 I got it for 2 bucks, played it for 10 mins and never touched it again.
>>1068587 >payday 2 >mindless shooter lol wut. It's the best heist game of all time despite the egregious amount of dlc content that comes with it
Are the mods for classic games any good? I was watching Warlockracy's videos about Jagged Alliance (since I've been looking for more games similar to 7,62) when I saw he has several videos about Fallout mods. Are any of them good? Do they capture the atmosphere and experience of the original? If you had to recommend the best one, which would it be? >inb4 just watch the videos lmao I'd prefer to avoid spoilers. I've seen a few of Warlockracy's videos, and he usually talks about the story, characters, and decisions of the games he reviews, and I'd prefer to keep that to a minimum.
>>1122408 To my understanding Fallout Sonora is considered the best and is sequel quality but I haven't played it yet
>>1069219 >wonder why faceless women get me off so much? It objectifies them a little bit, which can be dominant or submissive
>>1068584 best thing to come out of fallout 4 was vault meat and all that pipgirl art we got along with her
>>1110533 by the time you reach vegas, you've only done 20% of the game, there's still lots left. I think they decided on how to do the first act of the story and set a group to make it while the other guys designed the rest due to the time restraint, so the first act had to be a narrow long line, so the other guys could put stuff around it without having their hands tied. I can probably word this better.
>>1118175 >pointing out an objective fact >uhmmm, yuu most be dickriding todd howard Ok faggot
>>1068788 protip, get harold the ghouls when he pops up, he gets 12 per and will sinpe the shit out of everything for you, but he also gets a perk that makes him radiate your party, so you need to do a few missions and grab mutate! to change it to gifted for a godly sniper that doesn't irradiate your party, also mutate in general is op because you don't need half the skills, and fast shot turns everyone your party into a meat grinder.

I'm about 100 hours in this save file, and I still won't talk to sunny smiles.
>>1068576 Falloutfags are the biggest crybabies on the internet Fallout 4 sucks, though
>>1068997 >do an endurance build in NV you can also tank Deathclaw hits >In NV it's way easier to deal with them Sure thing oldfag
>>1134853 Deathclaws will literally rape you in Fallout 1
My first go-around Fallout 1 wasn't that hard thanks to Ian
>>1068576 2 is great, maybe even better than the first game, it just has a really rough opening. The game actually gets going once you find Vic the trader, which is around 45 minutes to an hour in, if I remember right. I can never decide whether I like the first or second game better, usually whichever one I played most recently is the one I end up liking more.
>>1138734 2 is hot garbage, it's nothing but le funny pop-culture references
>>1140115 Nice way to demonstrate that you haven't played it. There are few pop culture references outside of special encounters, and it's entirely possible to play through the whole game without seeing a single one.
>>1117623 I've been playing it recently, I like it but wouldn't recommend it, there's a lot of egregious things related to the fallout 1st subscription, mostly the unlimited ammo storage and scrape storage. considerable amount of delay because of it being server based, but it's not as bad if you use a private world which unfortunately is locked behind the fallout 1st subscription. grinding for plans to make stuff is a chore, all builds are based around legendaries so enjoy farming for the right ones. there's also a lot of wide content that's incredibly undercooked i.e daily ops and expeditions. the main quests are horrible and none of the characters are likeable
>>1140115 >>1141135 Both of you are wrong Fallout 2 is a great game which is brought down by the changes in tone and writing frok the 1st, including the pop culture references. It was rushed out in like 9 months and has tons of content compared to the 1st so people usually excuse it's glaring flaws.
The narrator lies. If you free goodsprings radscorpions slowly kill all the few denizens of that region. Where there's water there's danger. It was only a matter of time. Realitically the only faction who could hold goodsprings without polluting it are the white legs, but they're a long ways away from Goodsprings.
>>1143239 most of the content is shallow littering map with dozen of small locations that have one or two quests sucks
>>1068731 there are internal game settings for damage multipliers to power armor. I think by default it's 1x to the player and 3x to enemies, which makes every power armored enemy a joke because their armor falls apart if you or anything hostile to them so much as draws a weapon in their general direction.

can't tell if anyone from 4cuck's fallout general made it here or not, it was pretty dead as it is.
>>1169140 I'm here now. I thought it was like 4ch's /v/, where generals got shifted off to /vg/ and was looking for a /vg/ board instead.
>>1169140 not many I wager, saw a few stragglers here and there trying to talk about Fallout
>>1169140 Kinda on/off lurking.
