It's that time again for a new thread! Let's see what we got. Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur is only now catching people's attention, at the end of the cartoon's life, because of a withdrawn episode dealing with... transphobia. DEFINITELY NOT PULLED FROM AIRING BECAUSE OF TRUMP WINNING. Remember when capeshit cartoons were about superheroes instead of gender identity politics? Is Devil Dinosaur even IN this episode?! This is Jack Kirby's legacy, folks. Recently, Hazbin Hotel had a bunch of leaks with an entire episode, reference sheets, & songs all now out in the open. Said leaker shot himself in the foot trying to make people pay for more though. Which only pissed off the people interested & put a target on his back. Then in a positive note for once, The Penguin finished. It's actually a pretty good show BUT not without the typical flaws of these capeshit shows afraid of actually being comic booky. Oswald is nicknamed 'Oz' & he never dons a top hat, has a weaponized umbrella, nor wears a monocle. Other disappointments are Sofia Falcone & Magpie's looks just being completely different indistinct ladies. Sofia is easily the weakest part of the show. Especially when they try to write girl power moments for her. BUT if you enjoyed The Batman movie & or The Sopranos then you should enjoy The Penguin. But on that positive note, we have two uncertain features of James Gunns DCU. Creature Commandos & James Gunn's Superman. One a typical hyper violent totally NOT Suicide Squad derivative featuring vaguely recognizable comic characters.... & Weasel. Possibly taking a generic jab at MAGA voters with these red hat gun toting men getting torn apart. Totally won't instantly age like organic fruit the minute it drops if it's really a political commentary. Then of course Superman... well who knows what to really expect from Superman. It seems like it's going to be more heartfelt BUT also very bloated in a rush to build a universe. With bizarre decisions regarding characters working for Max Lord as corporate heroes & possibly a Bizarro named Ultraman dressed like Doomsday. We'll see more once that supposed finished trailer drops.

I finally found it after 22 fucking years, this pilot aired on CN like 30 times and it stayed in the back of my mind as I remembered it from time to time. Animation looks better than I remember, but the narrative and aesthetics are really off. The gal that directed this also made the cartoon sections of Lizzie McGuire later on. There's an obscure cartoon from my childhood that I was not able to find. All I remember about it was that the characters had grey or white skin, some of the characters had blonde hair, and maybe that they were british. It wasn't Angela Anaconda. It had the conventional animation style rather than the rigged photos that Angela has.

It was since updated to obsfuscate it (no archive because Linkedin needs login), which replaced the listing with one for a "sequel" (e.g., not reboot/remake). As a fan who is terrified yet curious, I've got to ask: Do people under 25 even know who Jimmy Neutron is at this point? I'm pretty sure it was only relatively popular in its day, not a juggernaut, and Planet Sheen was an abomination. Can't even pretend it does well in streaming because it doesn't have the best episode for viewing.

Fucking loved it. Hadn't heard about it until a friend posted it because he know I like shit like that and I instantly knew it must be the Scavengers Reign team when I watched the trailer. Maybe for the better that I learned about this a bit later because it was fun as fuck to marathon seven episodes at once. Can't really complain about anything, most of the characters are great and Marshal in particular is a very rare case of a genuinely good guy who is likeable and not boring. The last episode in particular was a trip. What a great way to end the first season. Looking forward to the next. Also this is probably cheap but the insert song scenes made me emotional. Even the Enya one and I usually don't like her stuff. The Rednecks and the feds where the big surprises to me. I loved them.

It was word of the mouth that made people go. Even in my country (not anglo) I heard people in the cinema say that the trailer was to blame for it. I don't know why they're so eager to advertise everything as cheap comedic copy of different cheap comedy series instead of just telling people what it actually is. Even if it DID attract a billion people expecting a family guy clone or something they would dislike it the moment they realise it's something else, so they won't manage to attract any of the potential audiences.

This is a series of shorts and comics about a "cool" cat and a dumb and silly squirrel. It's set in the early to mid 2000's and tries to replicate the look and feel of the cartoons of that time. It's been slowly gaining traction over the years, from what I can see. I'd say they're pretty good, especially compared to the industry slop of the current year.
