I would agree with you normally, but after some thought I have to agree with the other guy. Certain words have too great a linguistic hold on people. I'm hovering on the line for certain words like "based". "That's so based" and the like, or even just as a simple response. On the one hand, it's nothing new that previous generations wouldn't have used wicked, cool, sick, etc. But then you have things like -CHAD.
As an example, take the Rei vs. Asuka debate.
Asuka best girl
It's one thing to say Asukafags, Reifags, or even dare I say Misatofags. But adding the suffixes that /dbs/ is known for, such as changing them to ReiGODS, or AsukaCHADS, or RitsukoCUCKS degrades the conversation while adding nothing.
