The animation was decent by average anime standards, but this season looks pretty bad compared to the first two. What the hell happened? The fact that the season that's split somehow looks worse is weird, and the pacing has been pretty normal but this season is only 24 episodes which isn't enough to adapt everything I just want them to animate Arthur VS Dragon well

>>22392 I don't think they did, they definitely cut a few pages but it was mostly the same with far more recaps. >>22026 It seems that they had production issues, the anime despite having been announced immediately after season 2 couldn't have been in production for that long since the director made 3 different shows during that gap. There was an alleged leak that season 3 was being made by SHAFT but then swapped hands to David Production again, but the guy who said that is someone well known for having bullshit claims and is generally unreliable. Only reason I'm bringing this up is because Fire Force is published by Kodansha, who are well known for pressuring studios into releasing anime as quickly as possible so I wouldn't be surprised if they originally wanted a change of studio due to David not having enough staff at the time but changed their mind once they finally had time, but had already spent some of their butget on another studio. My only cope is that the second cour will look good due to more devtime and that we'll get a film or something afterwards to adapt the rest of the manga.

I still believe this is the best battle shounen of the last 10 years, but my god, these 3 episodes were quite the slog, not much really happened, they could have covered all of it in just 1 episode without missing much.

Damn the animation really took a nosedive huh, hope it gets better later on.
