To be Hero X Anonymous 04/18/2025 (Fri) 11:46:43 No. 19147
I was hesitant to pick it up because I'm not the biggest capeshit fan, but it's actually good. Best soundtrack I've heard in a long while, too, both the OP and insert song by Sawano and the ending theme. The story structure in unconventional and really ambitious from what I've heard - mini-arcs following different characters but connecting and flowing into the bigger plot. I wonder if they manage to pull it off
>>19147 Didn’t the manga get axed? Shame, same series made by prison school’s author

>>19147 Posting the schedule for people who haven't seen it yet. Also, episode 3 PV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSHopnxskB8
>>25441 So many good designs. Nice's arc is being really fun in general, also gay.
>>19177 Oh my god, I got this confused with raw hero. Please don’t bully and make fun of me
When is this airing? Feels like I watched ep. 2 two weeks ago
>>25968 Sunday morning in Japan, the old One Piece timeslot.
>>19147 I've seen episodes 1-2. It feels a bit soulless (mostly the visual style and animation style) but the story was exciting and had some good twists
Chinkshit will always be soulless.
>>26234 3 Body Problem is peak soulKINO
>>26234 I'm inclined to agree, but this show is changing my stance ever so slightly. The language is still ugly, watching this in JP even though it's a dub >>26661 left me feeling empty, in retrospect reading that was mostly a waste of time. also how is that soulful if it's essentially nihilistic vomit thematically
I watched the first episode a few days ago and I liked it. Didn't know it was going to follow different characters, but that's got me interested even more. >>26234 Link Click is pretty good. I don't know what else they've produced but so far China's doing okay in my book.

>>26691 >also how is that soulful if it's essentially nihilistic vomit thematically The ending is thematically similar to EOE. MC did the right thing and for the first time in her fucking life she didn't regret her decision. The series is soulful and full of cool SF concepts it's just not sucking "humanity fuck yeah cock" all the time. And The Dark Forest ending is literal peak /a/ kino. In anime in such moments you play OP to make scene even more powerful.
>>19147 Isn't it the hated CGI?
>>26691 Same and same. Shat on Chinese series so far but this is the first one I enjoy so might shit less often on it from now on. And yeah, I gave the Three Body Problem a chance since it sounded interesting but never managed to finish the first book. The only character that felt alive to me was the chain-smoking cop. >>26082 That should be soon. It probably already aired. >>26775 I should start Link Click too maybe. The webms I saw weren't bad and it doesn't seem to involve Chinese myths or cultivation shit. There are no non-shit webtoons though.
To be Hero is still the best one of this series

>>27387 Nevermind, it's airing in 4 hours from now.
>>19147 Why didn't it trend in Japanese twitter, and out of ranking in animate and dAnime store vote? Can't Chinese bot their black ship properly while Korean can? Vigilante got higher vote than this.

>>27387 But Chinese donghua lacks fanservice scene just like Korean webtoon due to being censored to death. No bikini allowed in Korean and Chinese slops. Pic rel is outfit not allowed in Chinese donghua.
>>28695 At least they have the widest hips you've seen to offer as compensation

>>28719 Shut up. This is safehorny.

>>27387 Any Chinese donghua with bikini scene? Even ATLA has bikini scene for Fire princess. Since Chinese donghua cannot have bikini or similar skin exposure for wymyn.

Man, why didnt they just do 2D animation, when they change to 2D it looks good
Watched the new episode. I was wondering "If Firm Man is always standing tall and he can't crouch then how does he even sleep?" and they actually addressed that in the episode kek, that sounds honestly so fucked
The premise seems really cool. I like how they build perfectly off the idea of the public's "trust" fueling the heroes powers. It opens up so many avenues to explore this society, and what it means to have a public vs personal life. I also really like that it's what that trust is placed in that decides what powers the hero gets. Moon was trusted to be free, so her power is to go where she chooses, Nice is trusted to be perfect, so his power is to be the classic image of a perfect super hero, Firm man is trusted to remain standing, so he cannot fall no matter what. It also plays perfectly into people's unrealistic and often damaging expectations of public figures hurting those figures. Moon couldn't get away from nice because the fans wanted her to be with him, nice is an ocd perfectionist because everyone expects him to be perfect, firm man can't sit down even to take a shit or sleep. It's a really great way to explore public personalities.
>>28754 There very well may be a plot related reason for it. We see in X's PV that the guy essentially can switch from 2D to 3D and vice versa, so the switch to 2D very well may be X stepping in to guide the outcome. There is a very audible snap when it switches to 2D in episode 2 which may meant X had to step in to bail Nice out. It's actually kind of neat since the fact there was no switch to 2D when Nice held up the statue in this episode meant he did it through his own power instead of X having to step in.
>>29566 Wait so X's power is to turn the world into a cartoon that he can rewrite? That's kinda neat, but that basically makes him a god. Guess if he's the top hero that makes sense for him to be that strong.
>>29651 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08kp3Cs31Ow I think they just chose 2D for stylistic reasons, but X's power seem to be something akin to reality warping. X is probably the only real true super hero of the world by the fact that his powers are his own and he isn't constrained by things like the beliefs of others to end up in a situation like Firm man where he cannot ever bend or Nice having his OCD taking more and more over. That is probably why X just seems to be a normal office worker as well.
>>29667 >>29566 Why didn't it trend in Japanese twitter tho? GQX(with penalty on shitty schedule, being tied with variety show) and Uma has trended. So did Precure.
>>29667 I wonder if him getting sprayed by the soda is foreshadowing of how he'll be taken out. His powers are god like, but only if he sees it coming.
>>29670 Even Love nosebleed is better donghua than this. Or Maybe Aharen.(seems like semi donghua just like DAL S4)
Another great episode, next one will conclude the Nice arc. PV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSlT2vkAxB4
Nice that they add those little scenes that show his OCD autism. I often adjust picture frames when I enter a room. You wouldn't believe how many people won't notice or care about askew frames
>>28695 So are the moderators of this board completely uneducated as to who the usual /a/ schizos are?
>>19147 Isn't this LITERAL chinkshit? Is not like an anime studio making an adaptation of a foreign work, is just a foreign work, it would be like calling Arcane an anime.
