Eh, I'm off of the Cody hate train at this point, I think that this year he has come into his own. He still isn't indie darling tier and I get that, but he actually seems comfortable in his role now, has learned a lot more about what actually gets heat as a dastardly heel. For me the clincher was seeing him live in Perth, he had a 50/50 split crowd quite literally (one side of the arena was booing him at every turn, calling stardust chants and shit) and the other side was eating him up and cheering him hard, and he managed to work heel to both sides at the same time (faking out the side that hated him with taunts of giving them Stardust like they wanted, while also mocking the side cheering him for jerking him off) while still letting the other guys in the match (Robbie Eagle and Will Ospreay) shine.
He is hardly a match of the year worker, but I no longer get annoyed to see him on a New Japan card.
Although I am annoyed that the Bullet Club is Fine storyline is overshadowing Golden Lovers returning and Young Bucks moving up to heavyweight, feels like the tag belts are treading water with LIJ/KES stuff while we wait to resolve this
