Graduation shouldn't be all sad and gloom, think it for a second from where that word comes from, and really think it is meant to be all just fucking depressing shit. It is a sad moment because they are leaving something important, but that doesn't mean that the person will die afterwards, the character might, but you can celebrate the path they took all the way to get there, the friends they made and the laughs you had as that character. And be happy for the person in their future, whatever it might be.
This is why it never worked on the "idol" industry in Kpop in contrast to Idols/JPpop, because people there didn't want for former talents or new talents to be embellished with a previous or new name, they just wanted the thing they already have, mainly as a team, and if a member does something bad they usually fire their ass. While Jpop or Idols took it more as a sign of someone who now has the experience will work in a different path, maybe still related to the other one or maybe not, but still looking forward. This community is conflicted in these two points, mainly because companies want the Kpop route, while fans either want one or the other.
