I think I'll reword my post to be a bit more objective about it. Forgive my autistic wall of text.
Vivian is explicitly called an "otokonoko" in the original text. This could mean either "boy" (男の子) or "male crossdresser/trap/femboy" (男の娘). That's one of those things which is indeterminate because they didn't use Kanji. If you interpret that as 男の娘, the argument stops right there. 男の娘 characters are not trans, never have been.
If you think it's 男の子, you could just leave it at that, or you can then make the argument that that's just referring to Vivian's biology, and that Vivian's gender, based on the fact that Vivian wants to be one of the "sisters" bad and dresses up femininely, is female. This could then be backed up by things like the 2nd pic, the whole "body of a man, heart of a woman" thing. This is again another indeterminate phrasing, it's been used by trannies IRL to describe themselves, and indeed if you Google that phrase "体は男 心は女" you will get a lot of LGBT articles in this day and age, but it's also been used in Japanese media for any kind of character who isn't gender conforming; okama (ESPECIALLY okama, 3rd pic as an example), otokonoko, trannies, etc. I think it's also important to note that I believe that particularly line was added in the remake and Vivian does not say anything like that in the original which further complicates things.
I'm of the opinion that it's too indeterminate to say definitely one way or the other, and that it probably always will be because Nintendo generally wants to avoid getting too deep into politics in their games so they'll never "confirm" it. It's not the same thing as, say, Daisuke outright saying in an interview that Bridget's "correct pronoun is she", I'll avoid getting into that can of worms lol.
I also don't think it particularly matters either way because the "joke" for Vivian's character was always "You thought this was a woman? Lol, actually it's a man!!" and that remains the same regardless of whether Vivian is a trap, tranny, okama, whatever. People need to learn to accept that not everything has a "right" answer sometimes and that not everything NEEDS to be explicit confirmed canon I'm right you're wrong you're le refusing reality!!, and that's fine, you can jack off to your Vivian tranny porn or Vivian trap porn all the same and keep on believing in whatever "canon" you think.
