Post your favorite quotes, talk about your favorite or old games, shitpost, discuss upcoming stuff. Upcoming stuff: >Company of Heroes 3 >Homeworld 3 >Sins of a Solar Empire 2 >Ratten Reich >The Great War Western Front >WarNo >Broken Arrow >Xenonauts 2 >Touhou Empires >Men of War 2 >Tempest Rising >SeaPower A remaster of Tiberian Sun/Red Alert 2 much like the OG would be nice, though I doubt they wouldn't fuck up the spritework on them since that has way higher definition and small details than the original.
I watched a stream of C&C Generals on twitch and those players just only used humvee with infantry units inside it to kill each other with, they didn't used any other vehicles and they were all USA faction players too. Man Competitive anything is fucking gay as fuck to watch.
>>1077935 That's another problem with PvP: it's "solved". You ignore everything that doesn't work and beeline the meta, leading to play that disregards half the mechanics.
>>1077908 >high textures
>>1077921 Multiplayer with people you know is usually better to me. Pulling off some last minute bullshit against my friends that manages to save the match in supreme commander will always be a highlight for me. With randoms though, I prefer singleplayer. >>1077935 >>1077941 Hyper competitive metafags will always optimize the fun out of whatever they play.
>>1077935 And GLA is just tunnels and Quads, Generals was never supposed to be played competitively.
Reminder to everyone what all of command and conquer is on sale for dirt cheap. I can't believe i haven't heard of this series before, i'm playing remastered tibdawn, while there is some things i dont like about it, i find it enjoyable overall Any recs? I heard that the historical total war games are alright, along with the civ series being neat.
>>1066124 Reviews are positive too. I'll have to give it a pirate demo later to see if how it is. >>1078157 >I can't believe i haven't heard of this series How did you not know about C&C?
So uhh, this /gsg/?
(540.00 KB 1920x1080 Company of Kino.jpg)

>>1091329 Fuck it, why not?
>>1078157 For Civs, it's Civ4 if you want ye olden civ formula (hammers/food/commerce/beakers as resources) or Civ6 (city builder tetris in a 4x map). Do beware the whole thing with 100 DLCs for Civ6
Some rts adjacent news, but the Renegade Red Alert 2 mod Apocalypse Rising is going into public beta on the 23rd of this month. Just the Soviets and Allies at the moment though, no Yuri yet. Going to make sure I get a chance to play this one before it dies off like a lot of mods tend to do.
>>1091399 Still waiting on Firestorm
>>1091406 Yeah Firestorm looked pretty cool last time I checked. I wonder when that will finally come out.
/vst/ refugee here, been playing a game called 'Lines of Battle' which is a free web/mobile game where you do line battles (currently focused on Napoleonic Era of line battles) game is still in beta but I've emailed the dev and he'll be adding more features like fog of war
>>1096509 So it's bassically super simplified total war game?
>>1096542 I guess you could call it a simplified version of Nappy's TW but with more unit count and less unit variety. The largest battle size (for matchmaking) will get you 80~ units depending on unit composition There's 2v2 (matchmaking), 3v3 and 4v4 (custom games); scenario editor (someone made custom scenarios for Chancellorsville, Waterloo, and Gettysburg)
After all these years nothing has beaten Sengoku Rance for me and I skip all the sex scenes so that is not the reason why I like the game. I've been trying to get into Masters of Orion because I did like Stellaris to a degree but I'm just simply put not a fan of rts games. I just want to have fun and take my time

Just want to mention that airmech devs have slowly been spinning back up development. Redesigning the ui, changing how parts work, actually bringing back the co-op survival missions Probably going to do a soft reboot soon.
>>1096509 >>1096644 shit this looks awesome
(1.63 MB 1204x777 Capture.PNG)

>>1096644 the deployment phase feels janky. seems like you can only move a unit once and then its stuck in place, and turning on formations doesn't seem to realine all selected units into a formation
>>1099707 Yeah, the game is in development (beta version), still very janky. You can only place units during deployment, you can't use the order tools (hotkeys 1~5 for move/charge/shoot/fire and advance/fall back) and formation modes (hotkey F for move/straight formation/checkerboard formation), which means you have to manually place them into formation (hotkey Q to deselect). If you're looking for multiplayer tips, terrain and positioning is 2/3rds of the battle, defeating the enemy in detail and concentration of force is the key to win. My biggest failings happen when I try to/was forced to attack while my units are still out of position/forced to stand still due to the enemy's better terrain.
>>1099569 Is this the f2p one where you bring your own units and control a hero unit? Man it's been what feels like a decade. Seeing this brought memories of a Chinese M&B PvP game. Something like White Tiger.
>>1099569 Nice. I haven't seen that game in a while. Did they give up on the sequel or whatever they were doing before?
(1.02 MB 1920x1080 AirMech_Toybox.png)

>>1102921 Yep, thats the one, Used to be pretty popular on xbox apparently but those servers got shut down years ago. Dev is fairly active lately, so I hope it will get more popular. >>1103342 The original plan was to split the PVE and PVP aspects into 2 separate games, Wastelands being the PVE campaign with some co-op features. The two games were both tied to the same servers for gear, so skins and unlocks from one would transfer to the other. Unfortunately it never took off, the gimmicks, plot, and just general feel of wastelands was a huge miss. Meanwhile a few mechanics that were added in the PVP side, follow orders and Autodeploy, completely killed PVP. because it became too easy to micromanage deathballs of units. Last year they started a major overhaul, and they are still working, albeit slowly, Its much more enjoyable now and I'm looking forward to what they will do next.
Is tempest rising out? It had early access right? Did someone follow up on any news or something? I tried the demo and it had some problems so I'm not sure I want to just in on launch but I am still curious.
You guys should try out terra Invicta. I pirated the newest experimental and was pretty impressed >4x about being an illuminati style faction trying to exploit and/or resist an alien incursion into the solar system >Game can take upwards of decades to complete (starts in 2023) >Tactical space combat >In depth nation management mechanics such as setting budgets, managing pollution, launching nukes >You can annihilate alien scum with orbital strikes It's pretty neat and has a lot of game to enjoy
>>969578 then Bitchford should have made a good game and not a series of cutscenes with a couple of near-yuri fembosses nobody gives a shit about.
>>1105849 I thought the devs made it their mission to make it an unfun slog? I will play it again anyway got a new pc and it was barely playable on my laptop
>>1106525 I have no idea about the past of the game, I did research a lot of the meta and complaints about it and seems like the new experimental branch handles a lot of things I saw as sticking points. The aliens begin landing much sooner now than what I saw before (2028-2029) and they can easily achieve total victory by mid 2030's if you don't pick and choose who to work with. I like initiative because I can play both sides until I can BTFO aliens by buying time while holding china-india. I wouldn't say the game is incredibly difficult once you get the ropes down. FYI I've only gotten to 2038 in a non-alien faction playthrough so far, so maybe it gets unfair later
Tempest Rising just came out today, feels like a spiritual successor to C&C so far
>>787703 >>Homeworld 3 Disgusting tripe skinwalking as Homeworld

>>1121377 Alright gonna try it out.
