ITT: Games/Series you do not care about. Anonymous 04/18/2025 (Fri) 22:09:50 Id: 382d37 No. 1137955
I do not care about Minecraft nor cannot figure out how it manage to get a movie. I do not get its massive popularity. I don't understand how Steve is in Smash. I thought it was some small indie game long time ago.
>>1140254 I don't think the vast majority of kids who bought Minecraft built anything substantial, I think it got popular on youtube right around the same time letting a phone or tablet raise your kid became a big thing.
>>1139288 Utilitarianism is gay, dude.
>>1140435 Sure, but having SOME utility would be nice.

>>1139423 There's a nuance to the expression "Did Not Care For" It doesn't mean you don't care at all. It means you don't understand why something has the smoke blown up its arse the way it does. But if I have to think of a game I don't care about at all not even enough to think about it; one with some popularity? I'm gonna say I do not care about Kingdom Hearts.
Minecraft yeah is one of them, probably the biggest Dark Souls is fun but I kinda get it, is the only series that does feel like a PS2 game with mainly gameplay focus that isn't baby shit like Ninty games Smash Bros I never understood why people were so crazy about it when the gameplay hasn't been good since Melee and gets old fast Mario Kart I don't understand why did it do monster numbers whe I am also burned out of the wii physics since Mario Kart Splatoon was really just not fun for me at all probably the second biggest is GTA, idk how people are still crazy about it ESPECIALLY after having so much openworld burn out, it was impressive in the PS2 era but for some reason people still act like these games are end all be alls, I couldn't care less about GTAVI I would say the last of us but I seen plenty of shitting on it
>>1139288 it's all convoluted and unintuitive but close to every resource in the game is farmable, and with enough autism you can even automate now.

Personally I could never really get the appeal of games like Monster Hunter. I don't really enjoy grindan bosses to get items that I get to use for a hot 10 minutes before I dump said item forever in place of the new one that I can make from the most recent boss I fought. It's a similar sort of issue I have with Terraria tbh but at least there you have some of the sandbox elements to interact with so it doesn't feel like you're going through Sisyphean motions of grindan loot to kill a boss so you can grind more loot and discard what you've previously earnt.
>>1137991 minecraft, after they fucked up world gen and every update turned into a "we doing sims now" bullshit, will still come back to it one day to explore the modding scene. Souls games, really should play demon souls, but the lack of parrying in lieu of roll spam is retarded and lazy game design. Like no one is interested in getting melee combat to feel tactical and actually skills based. Hell i'd probably beat king's field 4 before i play a souls game. Also never placed an ac game despite my love of casual open world slop.
>>1139288 I saw a video recently about beds in minecraft and he made some good points. Before beds, you were firmly encouraged to build larger, more functional buildings that would protect you at night and slowly expand them to allow you to do more while remaining protected. Building had a much more functional purpose for every player, you were making your fort. But after beds you can just sleep anywhere and skip everything and buildings are more ornamental.
>>1137977 Came here to post exactly this. I cannot give one ounce of a fuck about the Souls series.

>>1138093 Play some of SEGA's arcade-era IP, both actual arcade and their console output that has that design. I can't see how anybody could not "get" something like Outrun, Streets of Rage, After Burner, Shinobi, Space Channel 5, Daytona USA, etc. etc. If Sonic is the most gameplay-oriented SEGA thing you've played then you're missing out. As for modern Capcom I think they're oddly either overrated or underrated across the board; none of their major IP have put out the best games in their series in the RE Engine era but people talk about them like they're either all-time classics or total dogshit. Their best modern games are the ones that are understated to be honest; GnG Resurrection and Kunitsu-Gami are the best RE Engine games easily, though I do genuinely like DMC5 & SF6. Exoprimal, DD2, and MH Wilds lost the plot but had some good ideas, and the latter still has G Rank to try and pull it together much like how Iceborne cleaned up World a lot (Clutch Claw notwithstanding); granted I do main Hunting Horn so having an even better version of World Horn instead of the gimped shit from Rise (which I otherwise thought was a good game) is helping me deal with the mediocre new systems and rough performance.
>>1137955 i don't care about Final fantasy, Dragon quest or any other RPG. I loved mother series for the Story, but the grinding was hell. I spent a whole year trying to enjoy the gameplay, I played like a whole day every week. loved the story. I was a pokemon player I outgrown it, I tried other rpg's but they are sooo fucking boring maaaan MEnu after menu after menu to just attack
For me it's Elden Ring, I cannot for the life of me like this game. Presentation is spectacular but the exploration is ass, donjons are copypasted and the boss are obnoxious. Meanwhile Sekiro is a tigh experience with a simple story and less annoying shit like factions actually fighting with one another
Death stranding, even with showing the rather cool hiking/building sim having to interact with self important kojjumbo (inventor of the camera) story is not something I want to slog through

ARPGs like Diablo and the like. I've tried so many times to get into them and they all devolve into speeding through an area spamming a skill or 2. I'm sure creating the build and putting it into practice is fun, but it isn't for me. I bought PoE2 cause I thought things would be different, but it seems like they're doing whatever they can to lessen that and people just hate it. Clearly I am the outlier here.
>>1137977 same. I have tried both dark souls 1 and elden ring. I am baffled that so many people have fun with those games.
>>1137955 Any FPS. I want to see my character doing cool shit.
All the Metal Gear games, I just don't get it. Why are they always changing their names? Enemies one game, friends the next? Why make these massive metal gears when bombs would work just fine? Why?
>>1137977 I was gonna say this
>>1140147 Agreed about Roblox. Immediately suspicious of anyone over 15 playing that
>>1152724 I've heard that there are ways to make a lot of money on there but I haven't messed with it, for obvious reasons, of course >Immediately suspicious of anyone over 15 playing that
>>1138665 I don't agree with the virtual Lego comparison. There are some pretty big differences. The main one is Lego comes with instructions that you can follow to build various cool usually licensed things while Minecraft if you want to build anything cool you just have to figure it out and odds are what you build is just going to look like shit. The other big difference is that Lego gives you multiple piece size and shapes while in Minecraft everything is just a cube and that's all you get.
>>1139510 I've been saying this for years. Mobas are real time strategy games but without the strategy.
>>1155272 They're the FPS games of the strategy genre

>>1137955 Pokemon, Soulsgames, COD all just escape my interest and don't look that interesting to me. Pokemon is a mediocre JRPG that basically dumbs down the party building aspect of the genre in favor of having lots of different party members, and the only depth you'll get out of the series is multiplayer but that quickly turns into metaslavery. Dark Souls' gameplay nor setting just don't interest me, and I don't have a want to play them. COD is a weird in between for tactical/arcadey shooters, and I don't understand how anyone liked the 7th gen era games when they always had some of the least satisfying gunplay out of most shooters. Guns in those games felt like BB guns.
>>1138093 >doesnt like anything are you mentally retarded?
(93.74 KB 514x510 1630508051060.gif)

>>1144470 >It doesn't mean you don't care at all. That is up to interpretation, but literally speaking, it means, "I got no interest, zero (0) in this" >It means you don't understand why something has the smoke blown up its arse the way it does. Then the expression shouldn't be "Games you don't care about", but "Games you don't understand". The former, if not used properly, just reeks of assmad
>>1166391 >sonic the hedgehog this franchise has been always shit, anon.
>>1138665 My issue with minecraft is the lack of purpose most builds have outside of a mega, redstone build. I love building but purpose and small details are what adds to the soul. Which is why I play vintage story or modded minecraft or other blockgames
>>1138665 This. Minecraft is just lego where your resources are unlimited and you can explore inside of your creations instead of being an outside observer. It's also very cheap whereas if you want to actually do anything substantial with lego it will cost you an arm and a leg. If you enjoyed Lego as a kid but don't understand the appeal of Minecraft you may be retarded.
>>1169410 >didn't enjoy lego as a kid what now I did briefly really enjoy toy trains for some reason though
>>1137955 Nincel slop
>>1137955 I just can't get into mass effect. I love sci-fi, I love RPG's, I've spent countless loads on Tali but every time I tried actually playing ME1, I can't make it more than a couple hours in.
Minecraft, Super Mario Maker, any games about user created content. Just don't care. I don't wanna build shit, nor do I wanna play what other people build. Absolute waste of time. In 10 years from now, nobody will give a shit about you created today. Not even you.
