Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Anonymous 04/18/2025 (Fri) 08:39:43 Id: e5283c No. 1128502
Almost there. Let's pray Final Fantasy 17 goes back to turn based!
>>1128918 I consider 13-2 a good game even if not as good as old ffs though. The combat system is dynamic enough and it wasn't as linear as 13 >>1128935 I-I actually love ff8. >Will it be good? It has the potential to be a good game, at least the team seems to have passion, also teams need to start somewhere. I'm planning to enjoy it, too bad it also coincides with The Hundred Line which seems really replayable with 100 endings. Though with expedition I really missed turn based games that are not pixel retro. >FF17 shooter Kek, that was their intention with FFXIII, to copy call of duty. With 17 I think they have been trying to figure out copying GOW2018 or Souls (SoP) then action tales of jrpg with FF7R. I'm really curious about FF17 Btw the Deluxe version of Expedition 33 is really cheap in CDkeys, I would jump just in case
>>1129260 I wouldn't count on it, western developers are kinda afraid of showing normal romance
>>1128502 FF games haven't been turn based for decades.

Got a free month of gamepass, so I guess Ill check this one out
>>1129303 Stranger of Paradise is literally just Nioh, which despite being inspired by some aspects of Souls games, is its own thing.
>>1128502 The hatred for turn-based combat is wild to me.
>>1128502 wait that enemy is actually ingame or is it just edited?? looks so weird and out of place
>>1131798 It's a French jrpg about a painter ending the world. When your primary antagonist is an artist already, an enemy mime from the French hardly seems too odd. It's definitely going for exaggerated regardless.
>$30.61 for standard >$37.21 for deluxe edition On CDkeys right now? I doubt it will get lower than this. Should I just bite the bullet and grab it now?
I'm cautiously optimistic for this one and feel like the story and characters will have to do the heavy lifting for it to be memorable. I do like the style and dramatic music and tone from the trailers. >>1128502 >Let's pray Final Fantasy 17 goes back to turn based! I don't expect competence out of SE. >>1137774 Honestly tempting, although I'll still probably wait.
Ok I decided to go for standard. $30 bucks is a steal and I didn't like the DE outfits enough after looking at them for a while to shell out an extra $7. >>1138096 There are some games I'm waiting on to get cheaper like Khazan and AI Limit but I've been wanting to play this now. Waiting for cheaper than $30 is just penny pinching at this point when Steam has it at $45.
>>1128502 Xbox Gamepass consolation prize for having to deal with YAAAS KWEEEEN and NO CRUSTY WHITE DUDE games all year All in all, now that forcing me to buy the Yakuza games, once I play Mass Effect and Dragonage games I'll be canceling

how do you feel about the director citing sekiro as an influence on the combat?

I think this might be the first game i'm preordering in my life (unless we count kickstarting the piece of shit that was Pillars of Eternity a decade ago) There's surely a bit of chauvinism in it since i'm french, but that reveal trailer was love at first sight and people who played the 3 hours-long demo didn't raise any big red flags except for how difficult is it to parry Also i've been listening to the OST non stop, it fucking slaps.
>>1138623 It is a single player game and it will be on gamepass too so I'm not buying it. I understand buying live service games because those are bad on the gamepass.
This is the first game in a long while that I felt hype and confident enough to pay full price for the deluxe edition of a game. These french-fags better not dissapoint.
>>1128838 >The only things people say about X-2 are negative. I think the only people who say negative things about X-2 are the people like me who wrote it off completely when it released. However, I actually played it a couple years ago, and it's very good as far as the actual game goes. They story is pretty campy and a bit Charlie's Angels, but I'd argue that most Final Fantasy stories are at least at times campy and cringe, while X-2 embraces it more openly. The gameplay is some of the best in the series, it has the best job system, and it has Creature Creator, which is the best minigame in any Final Fantasy. As far as 33 goes, I'm honestly not expecting much from it. A somehow less inspired Sea of Stars. I'm expecting that I'll grow tired of the combat before the end of the game, and that it will be a pretty by the book RPG. Hopefully I'm pleasantly surprised instead.
>>1142134 It's also really cheap on cdkeys
>>1128772 That was the new team. They suck, they will never be as good as old Squaresoft was.
>>1143799 >That was the new team. Incorrect. X-2 was the last game that was fully developed by Squaresoft and not Square Enix. It was released in Japan in March of 2003, then the Square Enix merger happened April of 2003, then X-2 released in the US in November of 2003.
Is CDKeys really trustworthy? Saving 20 Euro on the deluxe edition would be real nice since I also need to buy a bunch of new hard drives and NVMEs right now.
>>1144027 It is, but if you want less shady sites that don't get their keys thanks to stolen credit cards and the like, just check isthereanydeal
>>1144105 I have been looking at instant gaming and it seems trustworthy but I'm not sure.
>>1144027 I bought from them a few times, I got SH2R and Metaphor preorders which were cheaper there and didn't had any problems

>>1129381 Jesus Christ, they need to make the font for the descriptions more easier to see. Tiny ass text with blue text on black background?
Why no demo... I need to demo to know how well or not it'll run on my PC...
>>1144921 Upgrade your toaster, poorfag.
>>1144921 The minimal config is pretty modest. You're not... living in the third world, right anon...?
>>1128732 >Embargo ends little over a day before the game comes out Don't like that
>>1144027 I used to be wary of it, but it's fine. It's the only gray area keysite I'll use though. GMG, Fanatical for official if it's cheaper.
>>1144027 >>1158916 It's not mp or has a DRM. You can just pirate it at that point. Seen devs say they prefer that over buying keys. Never seen a dev say vice versa.
>>1129303 FFVIII is my favorite, you are not alone.
>>1144921 Pirate it first and then decide. Why you acting like a bitch
>>1128838 X2 is kino and I'm tired of pretending otherwise. It's fuck you hard in some spots with a tendency to give you a save point past points of no return so if you're not leveled enough for certain bosses they will wipe you gg no re (had this happen to me about 15 hours in and had no recent saves to fallback to) but I liked it overall. Gameplay is king
>>1166890 It's so weird but so kino. Probably the most special one >>1169174 X-2 is a good game but a bad FF I guess? It's one of those guilty pleasures, it's so fun to play
