Sony goes full third party Anonymous 03/27/2025 (Thu) 18:56:59 Id: 184032 No. 1083321
It's over. Not only are Sony games on PC, they're also on Switch (2?) now (via Namco Bandai). https://www.bandainamcoent.com/games/everybodys-golf-hot-shots https://www.bandainamcoent.com/games/patapon-1-plus-2-replay Do you think they'll even try a PS6 at this point? What other old Sony IPs do you think will be dug up? Ape Escape Trilogy? Wild Arms HD? Gran Turismo PC? Do you expect the Switch 2 direct will confirm Metal Gear Delta for Switch 2 with Ape Escape minigame intact?
I wonder if Bamco agreed to publish a bunch of first-party Sony games they don't care about just to earn enough favor to publish Bloodborne. It's definitely the "endgame" of Japan Studio titles and they've published lots of From games. Personally I hope they tackle Gravity Rush and give us ports of those to more platforms.

>>1090433 Would be hilarious, the amount of money Sony is losing due to western focus is amazing to witness.
>>1090433 Sony probably doesn't think there is any reason to do exclusives anymore since all of the ones they've had recently aren't exactly system-sellers. Sure, you can have Patapon and Hot shots golf, what reality did anyone buy a home console for that? The PSP is dead so it's not like they need a hot launch Patapon title for it.
>>1090433 >Personally I hope they tackle Gravity Rush and give us ports of those to more platforms. Yep. This my dream.
>>1091993 Imagine seeing new Gravity Rush and Ape Escape titles releasing on PC/Switch 2. We need Sony to realise the Gravity Rush live action movie idea is terrible first though.
ONE GAME

(1.17 MB 896x504 1731820671699076.webm)

>>1110674 >they got nothing to offer besides a few successes like God of War They got an entire treasure trove of IPs to work off of, even if most of them aren't on the level of God of War's success.
>>1083418 >Churn vector Cool thanks for the title!
>>1083341 The fuck are you talking about.
>>1083321 I mean they'll probably end up batting 1/12 on live service so they'll have to come back to us after enough burns from the PoserCommunity's survivor bias rat race. Also we'll do batter here rhetorically I feel, the Jannies actually do their fucking jobs instead of being Mossad Tendies and I already frequented /vore1/ so there's potential collaboration open to us for a revival of WHIRR meme magic. kek
no on your life, nintendie.
Ape Escape. Ico trilogy. Gravity Rush. I'd be okay with a new entry for any of these.
>>1083321 >Gran Turismo PC as far as I know that was a confermed "not happening any time soon" along with Demon's Souls remake, if not a straight "never ever" also >>1083344 get on with the times, PC gaming is getting more and more popular in japan you can thank a lot of factors for that - the PS5's initial availability being garbage, the rising prices of snoy hardware, Valve sending Decks as gifts to however many game developers they could find
(61.14 KB 1280x720 IMG_4463.jpeg)

switch 2 needs to drop its price first.
>>1133615 450 isn't TOO bad, games being 80-90 is retarded though
(73.32 KB 466x440 1727462746393409.png)

>>1132905 >the PS5's initial availability being garbage On a less trolly note from me that's probably like half the reason for the porting (and cross gen stuff) anyway. Might have been fears of low availability = low momentum/mindshare so they go for "muh wider audience", ultimately that just resulted in shit like Concord though.
>>1133637 I don’t want the shitass camera, and fps varying on each switch 2 game is laughable.
should I buy a PC now that console gaming is pretty much dead if you aren't a toddler
>>1103710 I BOUGHT A PS5 WITH NO GAMES TO BUY
Playing through Sayaka's game right now as it's been several years since my last playthrough, and I'm having lots of fun. Never knew there were secret menu codes that can just give you all gadgets/morphs and 9999 coins right from the start, weird inclusion considering how piss easy the game is.
>>1134412 It doesn't come with the camera and the framerate varies with every console on the market right now.
>open thread expecting a ton of spats-covered loli butt >get on-topic discussion instead I'll admit, I'm a bit disappointed.
>>1147475 >tragic tale >/v/anon clicks on lust provoking image, discovers a on-topic discussion
(4.18 KB 209x137 Vita (you).gif)

>>1147475 There's entire loli boards and even loli vore threads, why would you be staved? There's as much cunny as you could ever want on this site. kek

>>1144945 1 and 3 are both tied for being the best for me but I wish 3 wasn't as easy as it was, everything else is phenomenal. Ape Escape is cool as fuck and i'm sad we haven't gotten a new game in over a decade, wish those recent Fangamer Pipo Monkey plushes came in more colors than just the basic yellow but at least it's something.
(649.40 KB 2048x1152 GjGvCwUbIAIQ2dP.jpg)

>>1169495 >recent Fangamer Pipo Monkey plushes Those got me to finally replay+100% AE1 (and Eng-patched Million Monkeys) some months back. Similarly, when Hot Topic put out that snazzy-looking monkey shirt I was pretty excited for a teaser for 4, a remastered collection, or even a bigger merch lineup. But as I recall that was a year or two before JapanStudio got a bullet to the back of the head, so I'm not holding out for any sort of 'revival' anytime soon.
>>1169495 2 isn't bad either. I love how the english dub got the voice actors for Ash Ketchum and Misty. So surreal hearing their voices.
>>1169707 While I'd kill for a remastered collection, it was very likely just to push the return of Snake VS Monkey, which is a bit sad but it's nice to see. Hope the Million Monkeys patch gets 100% finished at some point. It and Pumped & Primed are really good. >>1169764 I think 2's as strong as the other two main series games at the start minus the music, but once you start getting the new gadgets the levels start losing their steam as all the new gadgets are only useful for the super obvious use the gadget here setpieces outside of the water cannon repairing vehicles. >I love how the english dub got the voice actors for Ash Ketchum and Misty. So surreal hearing their voices. The American dubbers were definitely having a riot when deciding on that and I like it. never really liked how aggressively British the Europe team made everyone sound even if it is their accent.

>>1133637 IIRC, Nintendo has outright stated that they are aiming to sell the Switch 2 at a small profit, rather than a loss. If this is true, then they are literally charging you extra for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Remember that royalties on console games are a thing, and typically account for about 5~10% of a game's total price. These royalties used to be used to subsidize the hardware prices, lowering the cost of hardware. If you're not getting a discount on the hardware, then you're just paying Nintendo because fuck you. Also, since there are no royalties on PC - any game publisher who maintains price parity between console and PC is fucking you in the ass and making you pay for it.
>>1170064 >capitalist entity created to make money wants to make a profit woah
>>1170064 >aiming to sell the Switch 2 at a small profit, rather than a loss. Why would any company sell something at a loss. Are you retarded?
>>1170221 Standard industry practice you stupid gorilla nigger. Game consoles are family systems, and competed against PC and other forms of entertainment by being highly affordable to pretty much anybody with kids to play them. Profit was made by selling cartridges to third parties games with royalty fees attached to them. This is why attach rates on consoles were so important. Used to be console makers would actually lower the price of their hardware as the generation progressed and the materials and fabrication process became cheaper - still selling at a loss and making the money back on software sales. These days, they just take the royalties, and only sell at a loss during the consoles launch (if they even do that) - while never actually reducing it's price throughout the generation so that they make direct profit on each hardware unit sold ON TOP OF the now useless royalties. Useless aside from gouging you because dumbfucks will pay it without throwing a shitfit and think it's normal.

>>1083321 Cool, can I get Infamous 1&2 and the GoW collection (you can keep nu-gow, I want none of that dogshit)?
>>1170411 Just to nitpick, Nintendo has never sold their systems at a loss. It IS industry practice for everyone else, but it's not a practice Nintendo has ever engaged in.
