I did some dicking around with the old CSS hack that was thrown together a couple years ago for 8tv's chat that had a problem with its colors and I managed to fix it. Someone cap this for the next thread. With so many new friends joining in, what better way to show them a good time than with some of the best movies I've seen over the past few years. Movies start at 6pm GMT. I usually play something as a pre-show, currently running through Ken Burn documentaries. Monday: Pass Thru (2016) Tuesday: Dirty Pair (1985) Eps 17 - 21 Wednesday: Skip Thursday: Yu-Gi-Oh Season 0 (1998) Eps 17 - 21 Friday: The Thief and the Cobbler Recobbled Cut Mark 5 (2023) Neil Breen needs no introduction. A being from outer space who has taken the form of a human on earth, he makes movies that are incomprehensible to the human mind but still have a single focus and are highly watchable. Pass Thru is his best film I think and the one I had the best time with. This is an unintentional comedy and you will laugh. The Thief and The Cobbler is Richard WIlliam's magnum opus. He had worked on Roger Rabbit as it's lead animator before being approached by Warner. He was given a budget and 4 years in 1988 to finish this film he had spent 20+ years on. But since it went over budget close to $30 million dollars and with Disney's Alladin on the horizon in 1992, they took the completed works, butchered them and then released it where it bombed, sold the right to Miramax, who released their own cut in Aus and South Africa. In the years before he died, he allowed friends and fellow animators to try and put it back together and finish it. The Mark V copy is the most up to date version, the film is mostly complete with degrading slides, still images and pencil animations in some places. It is highly worth a watch though as one of the greatest animated films never finished. Zig-Zag is voiced by Vincent Price in his last role. He's great. Continuing Dirty Pair and Yu-Gi-Oh, Preshow will finally end the west, then we'll move through the Lewis and Clark expedition and then onto National parks. If you're new to movie nights and want something to watch, these are great times to watch with other anons. This also applies to my regulars in case you missed watching these the first time around.
