Tickling Culture Anonymous 04/18/2025 (Fri) 23:31:04 Id: 6087a6 No. 83889
I don't know what else to call this thread, but it's meant for the discussion of the perception of tickling around the world. I think we all know that our kink seems to be way more popular in Japan than most, if not all, other countries. >Huge amount of obviously fetishized scenes in relatively mainstream media >A bunch of escort/massage businesses specifically about tickling >Some gravure idol recently went viral and exploded in popularity from getting her armpit tickled on a late night show Meanwhile you have barely anything coming from South Korea despite them being at least as perverted. It's kind of a general and unfocused topic but this was something I've been wondering about recently and I wanted to see if other people have had some interesting observations they wanted to share.
Awesome 😎 hope the thread succeeds
>>83889 Interesting thread. One thing I can think of is the idea in Latin America of "el compañero que le pica las costillas a tu novia en el trabajo", a meme that went popular a couple years ago, and translates to: "the coworker that pokes your girlfriend's ribs at work", or in other words, a hypothetical guy that flirts with your girlfriend by playfully tickling her when she's not with you. It was kind of amusing to see the inherently flirtatious component of socially acceptable tickling between adults be so talked about in the open, at the very least for people of our... inclinations. Especially since it seemed to be a shared experience between pretty much everybody. I'm sure it's not exclusive to Latin American culture, but maybe it's more prevalent? Certainly more openly acknowledged. Plus the meme is funny cus of dudes being cucked. >Some gravure idol recently went viral and exploded in popularity from getting her armpit tickled on a late night show Is there a video link?
>>83889 >A bunch of escort/massage businesses specifically about tickling Sauce??? I went to Japan a couple of years ago and looked up places online but didn’t really find anything. I was in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto and never saw anything resembling a tickling friendly place.

>>83893 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKr5ou7SmHU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZt_FGg1DaI I think the one where she's hanging off the armbar is the first one but she did a bunch of TV appearances afterwards where she got tickled. >>83894 A Japanese TV channel did a spotlight on one of them a couple of years back. It's definitely not the only one, just use google translate to search for something like "tickling shop" or "tickling parlor" and there's several that should pop up. I also follow a bunch of Japanese accounts on Twitter and I have them pop up on my feed fairly frequently.
I don’t really know if this counts for this thread, but imo it feels like this belongs here. I feel like the kink predominately has its real “culture” online. I’ve been on the internet for a while and seen shit. I can say that tickling itself is a very common fetish/kink. Moreso, its size tends to come in from the overlapping of other fetishes, probably most notably, people who have a foot fetish. You also have others, such as hypnosis, bellies, armpits, bondage etc. etc. point is, it overlaps a lot so you’re exposed to a lot of people. I feel like most of the infighting has to do primarily with this overlap. When you get to this size, with the amount of people involved, there’s always those who disagree, even flat out, hate each other. Due to this, the “culture” is primarily divided and isolated and very tribal in nature. Different facets of the community aren’t just separated by fetish overlap but by “platform”. Let’s wind the clocks back about ten years. There was a plethora of platforms to post on, each having their own culture. Notably, most of us here probably fucked around on deviantart, furaffinity, etc. Oldfags probably remember angelfire, dinosaurs would roam TMF. I don’t want to go on a huge tangent, but the physical tickling community is *vastly* different than the online tickling community, and my post is mostly directed at the online tickling community. I find it interesting that some platforms formed “tickle communities” independently from other sources, I.E, tumblr. So where exactly am I going with this? You have all these people, on all these platforms, separately from each other. They’re pretty stable. Well, Deviantart shoots itself in the foot, and tumblr shoots itself in the foot. Where do the refugees go? Many migrate to twitter. At the same time, discord becomes a thing, putting faces to many of the artists. People shit on the community consistently, when back in the day, before discord and twitter, honestly “Drama” was non-existent. The sperginess and absurdity of the community comes from the clash of cultures that these respective platforms after some years, I find that it’s come to settle and after analyzing, I’ve come to group the artists/individuals into two respective online cultural groups. To which I have created an autistic list of artists I’ve assigned to one of two groups. These two groups are as follows, and I’ve assigned easy to understand traits to the groups so you can better see what each stands for. Aberrant: >Tickling as a fetish, embraces that it is sexual in nature >Leans towards obscenity, enjoys more risqué related content, such as nonconsensual tickling, loli/shota tickling. Fiction does not equal reality. >Exclusive platforms they might utilize in addition to regularly established ones: Baragg, Pixiv, Inkbunny Puritan: >Tickling as fluff, hesitant to embrace it as sexual in nature, if at all >Leans towards non-controversial subject matter, will gravitate more towards western-approved characters , potentially older characters, "Milfs". Consensual tickling. Fiction affects reality. >Exclusive platforms they might utilize in addition to regularly established ones: Tumblr, Bluesky, Reddit, These traits aren’t mutually exclusive to determining whether someone is more Aberrant or Puritan oriented, you sort of need to use your brain. >Why does this shit even matter you faggot So you know who the fuck might take your commission and not shit all over you.
>>83895 What's her name? The model getting her armpits tickled I mean
>>83889 What video is that in your pic?

>>83916 Good post. Perfectly explains why I'm annoyed by the puritan types at every step of the way when looking for art. Just a theory, but the "wholesome consensual fun" way of framing it seems to be an excuse to shill fetish content everywhere, while aberrants like me seem to understand that it's niche + NSFW from the get go and thus should be presented only to people who are definitely interested in it. Thus, aberrants do it out of unapologetic enjoyment and are happy to even have a small community who appreciates their work, but the puritans are much more likely to be motivated by cash / other material gains. >tl;dr you hit the nail on the head, aberrants = soul while puritans = soulless
>>83916 I don't know if it can be boiled down into two exclusive categories of people in the fetish, especially since this seems to concern mostly artists and not, say, writers or people who practice it irl. A line of best fit which isn't quite so useful for determining individual sexualities involving a myriad of differing factors. Besides a few outliers, I haven't seen anyone who insists the fetish is not sexual. But I spend most of my time (95%) on deviantart and TMF. Wasn't aware of fetish stuff on public places like Twitter or Tumblr until recently, so maybe there are more there. Putting fetish material on social media for all to see is pretty disturbing to be honest, I can't imagine sharing something private like that outside of a fetish space. I guess it's easiest to say that I see tickling as sexual and don't feel any affinity with anything else in the first category, but do with a few others in the second. Calling one "Puritan" seems outright dismissive of anything that isn't non-con and risque but still sexual in nature, I think.
>>83972 >especially since this seems to concern mostly artists I think he's just talking about artists, yeah. >Calling one "Puritan" seems outright dismissive of anything that isn't non-con and risque but still sexual in nature it's a big exaggeration to call them "Puritans" like he did yes, but in my mind what those people are is what's known as being safe horny. they only draw stuff that appeals to the masses by sticking to characters that are popular in the moment, avoiding involving other kinks because it could give them flak from annoying people who want everything catered to them, and basically showing little to no individuality. I also notice them usually putting the bare minimum into their work, reusing the same poses for the lee's body, always using mechanical / disembodied hands instead of drawing a ler, just changing up the face and ticking tools. in other words, they're "puritans" in that they follow a boring formula in every way, as opposed to the other end which goes all in on how sexual and intimate it can be maybe I'm saying nonsense and just letting out random gripes with artists I have without purpose, I'd much rather be positive and talk about artists I actually like anyway
Why is monokron so hated ? I don’t get it
