How can Internet Explorer open modern websites in Windows 98/ Windows Xp Anonymous 11/12/2022 (Sat) 10:41:15 No. 10615
when I try to open websites like youtube, twitter,... I just receive an error page saying "This website cannot be displayed" I tried restoring internet settings and deleting history and stuff, but it doesn't work...The only websites I could enter were Google, Bing, and old version websites were i tried to download firefox and chrome, but they also didn't work
>>10615 last time I used XP going to settings (advanced tab or something, I believe) and enabling all the TLS/SSL protocols worked
>>10615 A lot of the websites you mention are javascript heavy, and probably require relatively recent CSS / HTML standards. The standards for websites have changed, and are probably not supported by Windows XP IE.
Issue you have is working between HTML 1 to 2, and the modern internet now using some HTML 5. Javascript was fairly young, CSS having developed further over the years. Drop IE, or accept that the world is moving past W 98 on IE. There are more clever monkeys then me that know how to get that shit working on W98. But they would also tell you it is a bad idea to use w98 on the internet.
I'm someone who use FF 42 (2015). I watch as 1 by 1 sites I use become inaccesible. But it is funny seeing some sites still survive despite supporting old browsers. This thread look fun
