Do not trust any amd64 hardware made after the late 1990s under any circumstance. The only hardware that you can trust at all are architectures like loongson and so on, unfortunetly those have gotten very expensive, so this is not an option for the average Anon. Even librebooted thinkpads still have un-free firmware in them. Sure it's much better than hardware with the ME enabled, but it's not optimal, the same way having a girlfriend that is 0.1% cheating on you would feel still wrong. Do not make the mistake of buying old hardware (pre-2008), because supposedly there is no IME. It had a different name and was integrated differently, but it was still there. Ironically AMD is even worse in that regard, because there are much less resources on disabling the PSP and similar vulnerbilities and it's nearly impossible to practically do so (Correct me if I am wrong and you actually run a machine with the PSP disabled, I would be very interested).
