My friend recommended this to me as his favorite anime and it was great. I like the dub, which he also recommended I watch it with.

Never seen a show that was such a massive hit just vanish like Geass did for no reason. Usually when a hit of Geass' magnitude "dies" like that it's because of a terrible sequel that ruined the original or something, but that didn't happen with Geass, they just didn't make any kind of followup until way too many years after the fact. Sure they eventually tried to make a bunch of sequels and side projects, but they waited so long that interest had already faded. It's like they had the next Gundam in their hands and they just never made a Zeta.
