Nightmare Walpurgis III AAR Magic levels 110 / 59 / 111 / 111 / 89 If you're counting turns, you can gain extra SP here and there by NOT using your defender's barrier before Walpurgis' (cleanse -> XL/L attack) sequences and the (XL attack -> shield) sequence. For Kirika in particular, if your flex meguca are too fragile you will need to reserve Kirika's special to mitigate the sequence (XL attack -> L attack). The damage reflect on Kirika's barrier removes 5 out of 10 shield stacks on the boss during her (shield -> attack) sequence. So if Ayame's special isn't available (thanks to MP Rate DOWN), you can opt to reserve specials to guarantee the 5 hits to strip the remaining stacks. You can use Hazuki's action advance to give a meguca an extra turn to shake off the "MP Rate DOWN" debuff.

Nightmare Needle AAR Magic levels 89 / 89 / 110 / 111 / 111 We won on the second attempt with this team. It took about 30 turns and I was playing improv instead of predicting actions. The RNG makes it hard to tell for sure, but going beyond magic 59 seems to make a difference in survivability. "(DMG UP: No. Burning)" isn't actually scary. Instead, the priority is cleansing burns off squishy meguca and being as topped off as possible for every "Random Flame DMG [S]". Kirika's debuff must have full uptime. Timely breaking is crucial to stabilize SP or HP after the inevitable bad RNG sequence! Hold nonessential specials when the witch's barrier is up, that's where your break depletion comes from. Karin is here to be cute, and Pluvia would for sure make the team more stable.

Finally beat Nightmare Sandbox Witch, what a pain but winning feels good. First I tried a few times with homu-pluviadoka-eroha-kokoro-kaede and I spent like an hour in a loop of killing all spawned familiars, do a bit of shield chip damage to the witch, repeat. After an hour I broke shield but the damage I managed to do was so pitiful it was all useless. Winning strat was Yachiyo-Tsuruno-Pluviadoka-Ayame-Kaede. No killing familiars, no shield, just crowd control by breaking them and rushing to strip the shield and break the witch, then killing it in a single hyperbuffed Yachiyo turn. I like Homu for slow and steady but damn, hyperinvested Yachiyo with proper crit support rush nukes like nobody else.

Nightmare Ai-chan is down! And with that, I beat all of nightmare. Very fair and straightforward of a fight, absolutely no bullshit. Kinda felt like the devs giving us a break after those previous bosses. Brought Tsuruno because I expected to be annoyed by the adds, and wanted to take them down fast, but it didn't really matter.

Similarly, you want to reserve Reira's A2 cleanse until after the curse minions act. If you're MP constrained, just make sure to cleanse before the 3-action turns. But be careful of single MP DOWN at turn 13. (I didn't proofread my turn notes so some parts might be wrong)
