Anon, it's marketing. The "Rhino Deluxe Edition" of
The Wizard of Oz soundtrack consists of 83 "tracks".
<But, how, exactly, does the film have 83 "tracks" when it's 101 minutes long?
Well, they consider things like the Lolipop Guild song, the coroner song, the mayor's proclamation,
both the original and reprise of "Ding-Dong! The Witch Is Dead", and rest of the other "songs" from that 6 minute segment
ALL as separate "tracks".
<Well, what about the "6 hours and 40 minutes"?
All things being equal, that equates to each song being 2 minutes and 40 seconds long. But, who knows what's actually happening
during those segments. Think of it like "Speak To Me" on
Dark Side of the Moon.
Nothing happens until the final 30 seconds on the song, and, even then, it's just a bunch of random noises that lead into the next track, "Breath".
In the case of the
Sonic Frontiers OST, who knows how they have everything arranged.
