4chan /vg/ general. It's good when there's news or a storytime but the rest of the time it's pretty dull and faggy

It mostly focused on the Archie Sonic comics until Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces were announced and Archie Sonic was cancelled. It was mostly alright until it got more and more activity following Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces. You can still get some decent discussion out of there, but you gotta wade through more shit. They do have a lot of drawfags and few people making interesting projects. They also used to get visits from people who worked on the comics and the Sonic social media team. They have two OC mascots named Bump and Sage and that's pretty much it. Fun fact: If you check this site's /vg/ board, you can see a thread from 2014 following an unsuccessful migration of the general to here.

Truthfully, I hope this place will eventually catch on enough and create a nice community compared to /sthg/'s current state which is often more frustrating than it used to be.

Yeah, likewise. Before I left I advocated for that a few times, but no one really cared. It's a shame to see how it ended up. I'm curious to see if it has gotten worse since I left, but I'm not sure if I want to know.

They inherited a /mmg/ shitposter who only posts in lowercase, but he's either finally range banned or hiding his tracks (doesn't really matter since there are still plenty of shitposters). People are still fighting over milestone threads and now voting/rigging them for characters. They really really hate Jennifer Hernandez and have turned on Ian a bit. Mania Plus has furthered the Modern Sonic and Classic Sonic fanbase split which causes more arguments and bait. /v/ now uses /sthg/ as a boogeyman and easy target to make fun of and occasionally raid. On the bright side, they finally got rid of a reposter who posted the same images and copypasta every thread. And there's still plenty of artists despite everything and GHPAnon released the "Bumper Engine" recently, which is cool.
