Really, is because its a dead IP that overstayed its welcome, the last movie is the most wtf out of them and honestly, the fact that the live action and animation mixing is pretty subpar, (sans the last one that actually went full cartoonish), i mean, most of the time it wasn't proper live action and film mixing, but rather animation cels shot on static live action backgrounds, and the few mixings of live action footage, welp, look as cheap and subpar as you might expect with the characters just existing in a separate layer, even 40s disney animation that mixed live action did it far better, one film even,
Dot goes to Hollywood, was released before Who Framed Roger Rabbit which elevated and perfected animation and live action mixing which NO ONE was able to properly replicate in such care and quality (and only because of Richard Williams blessed insanity), and it obliterated the former.
It just run its course and went away.
the only thing that caught my attention was the last 2 films, specially the second to last one, feature animatics from ex-sanrio animator Nobuko Burnfield, sometimes known as Nabuko Burnfiled or Nobuko Yuasa, but only for a few shots and scenes.
