Meta Thread Anonymous 01/13/2025 (Mon) 02:25:36 Id: cb5b91 No. 1
RULES >1 : Any OP must at least thinly have to do with vidya >2 : Don't spam threads or in threads >3 : No pedos or niggers or pedoniggers Made this board so I can post freely about what games I'm emulating and the emulators I'm using, as I am now banned from both /v/ and /vb/ for having a terminal case of not taking it up the ass by moderation. Feel free to shitpost, however I am going to keep the thread limit to 32 to keep things manageable without having to bring on vols, at least for now. Also, post banners I guess, but I doubt anyone else will use this board, so it will just be my personal public log of vidya activity. A /v/log, if you will :^). Edit: Added the few rules to the meta OP for braindead people.

>>452 I'm >>434 and >>436
>>453 I already said you're cool. The rules here are very lax.
I notice a lot of /vg/ posts in the meta thread are remaining undeleted for extended periods of time now, though the filter is probably still up. Mark probably can't keep up with it, and seems to have become more busy trying to hold onto the blue archive gachafags, settling for giving them a cyclic and saying letting them just be on a different board is a "BAD IDEA", even though their activity dwarfs all of /v/, other refugees included. Scratch that BAD IDEA bit. I misread. In fact, unless he's samefagging, I don't think that's even Mark speaking. That's what I get for being a retard

>>447 >This many rapefugees will absolutely not assimilate. A lot of anons seem to be hoping they will, but they won't. In fact, they are outright refusing, making their intensions clear. Rapefugees have been told on a number of occasions to follow the rules but have just said no. >>455 >I notice a lot of /vg/ posts in the meta thread are remaining undeleted for extended periods of time now, though the filter is probably still up. Its clear that this surge in users is pretty much unprecedented, but this whole situation shows that Mark and his mods cannot handle moderating /v/. Plain and simple. So many of these threads break the rules, and are clearly deteriorating the quality of the board. And Mark, who was so concerned about post quality a couple days ago (so much so that he would delete things that he perceived were too negative) is almost nowhere to be seen. Any talk of it in the Meta thread goes unnoticed. People keep asking for help, for someone to clean things up and enforce the rules but it just doesn't happen.
It is also confirmed that posts that question the actions of the refugees are being deleted. There was one that asked why a new general was made for ff14 when there is already one in /vg/. That post is now gone, and the general thread still stands. The mods are more concerned with silencing natives than moderating these new low quality threads
>>459 That wasn't about questioning their actions, that was about suggesting refugees use any other boards than /v/ and /vb/, which would mean less PPH for Mark. It's why he filtered crosslinking >>>/vg/.

>>460 Oh hey, you're right, I do remember trying to format /vg/ as >>>/vg/ and noticing how it didn't have a crosslink once it was posted. I didn't realize it was something Mark implemented on purpose. >that was about suggesting refugees use any other boards than /v/ and /vb/ True, now that you mention it, other posts that don't mention /vg/ at all haven't gotten deleted. What's even more frustrating than seeing something anons have worked to create get dismantled in a matter of days is knowing that other people feel just as frustrated, if not more so, and are probably considering not participating any longer in the community. PPH outweighs anything else for Mark, even the rules he posts are not actually meant to be enforced. People say that he's the most competent leader /v/ has had over the years, but he's got to be just as bad as all the others. It's just a slightly different kind of incompetence and greed.
Excuse the double post, I am aware that this thread isn't supposed to be a "What's Mark Doing Today" blog, but he's actually spoken out about the generals. Seems like he only plans to possibly wipe the low quality general threads if the refugees decide to go back to halfchan. He seems to think it is fair to give them leeway since they will apparently even out on their own.
>>462 This board was made as a fuck you to the kike king, and this is the meta thread besides, i expect it to be nothing BUT shitting on him. The >>>/vg/ filter just got removed btw, no idea if it'll stay removed.
>>463 Someone other than Mark removed it. I expect it to return.
4chan was dying long ago. The hack was just a final blow
>>465 Anon, nigger, please. This board has so few fucking rules, and you still managed to break one. Merging you to the meta thread.
>>464 Most likely it will return whenever he thinks he has an opportunity to re-implement it without being noticed right away. He only cares about PPH, not moderating logically or fairly. Refugees are actively breaking the rules by making these general threads, and they are refusing to follow 8moe culture and are actively criticizing the site hes been a part of since the start. And yet, what he is most concerned about is PPH potentially decreasing with anons going over to a different board. Then he goes and makes a post asking for volunteer mods. Seems like he has plenty of time on his hands. He just wants to fool around, evident with how he keeps delaying taking any significant action against spam.
Overall, don't really care for the high PPH, but it seems like a lot of things have started simmering down with all of the initial excitement over the first couple days.
>>468 Me neither. Post quality and true discussion matters much more than PPH. High PPH seems to make some anons feel nostalgic, because it reminds them of when 8moe, or even the original 8chan, was busy. But the posts being posted are nothing like what anons are nostalgic for. They are current day halfchan flavored. >but it seems like a lot of things have started simmering down with all of the initial excitement over the first couple days. Didn't expect it to get calmer this soon, but seems like things have slowed down. Mostly thanks to refugees getting bored, probably, and not thanks to any moderation that is going on. People from halfchan seem to get bored fast.
>>468 > it seems like a lot of things have started simmering down I would say "down". More like stabilizing. But shits still untenably fast with top boards all normalizing at around 300 to 1000 PPH.
>>470 wouldn't*
I think I'll get back to the boards again after May. Browsing feels like a constant pain in the ass right now.
>>472 Just know that the landscape may have irrecoverably changed by then and you'll be totally out of the loop.
>>473 Fine by me. I could really make better use of my time working on my hobbies and side projects instead. Kind of sucks to see everything turn on its head like this but oh well.
Seems for the past day or so, Mark +Coyote has been too busy managing the horde to spend time micromanaging posts that shit talk him, or Nintendo. Real monkey's paw wish right there that somebody made to get Mark to knock off his recent faggotry. I'd say this board no longer has a reason to then exist, however now it serves as a place that's still slow and not full of cuckchan.
>>478 It is the very essence of 8chan to have a million useless boards, but also i'm sure one day his reckless faggotry will rear it's ugly head because he's retarded and has to drag himself kicking and screaming to a better future that he might never reach, which includes being not fat, having a job, and maybe even getting a wife and kids.
>>479 If he had a job, he wouldn't have time to hotpocket. Hell, this influx of users had me considering abandoning my boards if shit got too messy, because I actually have a job. Brought on my first vol recently just in case, and with a 100% chance he's not from cuckchan.
>>480 Well, hope he doesn't completely fuck it like whatshisface years ago, i can't even recall the name anymore but i remember he was a diddling enthusiast.
The purpose of this place is now for us natives to have somewhere to catch our breath. Head I am fucking slammed on all my boards, but /b/ by far is the busiest. But now even /k/ and /lit/ are getting posts, and then /tg/ was active this afternoon. I also now need vols, and would prefer they werent cuckchanners. Hows everyone else doing?
>>482 Never have been more glad to no longer run or vol /b/. I'll stick to my dead boards, thank you very much.
>>483 I hear that lol. Other than this craziness hows everyone holding up?
Mark appears to be back up to his old shenanigans. Someone made a post with a screen cap of a chat log where I believe Codexx was saying something about giving Mark a break for a few days, and that Coyote is a schizo. I can't recall exactly what was said, and unfortunately I didn't save the file before Mark not only deleted the post, but deleted the file itself.
>>487 Yeah, i saw that but didn't think to save it, the post itself is back up though. As long as the people running the site know they're fucking retarded, that's enough for me. I hope we can all unite as one to despise mark and cotoye, as they deserve the shame.
The refugees posting actual 4cuck threads on /vb/ was expected but I'm still annoyed by it.
>>489 The one's on /pol/ aren't too bad. At least they're posting cute girl.
>>489 I wouldn't be as annoyed if it actually worked. /vb/ is containing a lot of those kinds of threads, a lot of which are pretty bad/filled with porn, but there are still halfchan-type threads on regular /v/ that aren't getting anchored or deleted. It's pretty much a failed quarantine zone where the virus is still leaking out. And on another note, I wouldn't be as annoyed about the state of /vb/ if it was always like this to some degree. But in the absence of refugees, the board became a place for less serious and lower effort threads that could still have some discussion. Planning for a Christmas card has started, and there is even a board tan, which might be somewhat rare for a less serious board, and while these things still exist they have taken a backseat with this flood of refugees and their posts. It's a shame. >>478 >I'd say this board no longer has a reason to then exist Unless Mark has some significant change in mindset, the desire to micromanage and moderate with bias is always there. I'm sure he would love to be chasing after those negative nintendo posts right now but apparently he's slammed with tasks at this time. >>483 >I'll stick to my dead boards, thank you very much. How busy were the oldest imageboards, really? I'd venture to guess that they were only slightly more busy than how 8moe was before the halfchan refugees. Maybe 4chan's speed and rapid post turnover is the exception, not how things have been historically? >>486 Holding up fine here. Definitely not visiting the site as much as I was before everything happened. Things are just too fast, and seeing the incompetence from mods is irritating.
I didn't realize it until now but when did they turn named on for /v/? Was that to make the refugees more welcome?
>>492 Always have been on, solely for the purpose of bullying anyone that actually uses the namefield for anything other than making a funny.
>>493 It used to be disabled for ages. I distinctly recall making a joke about still being able to use the subject line to distinguish myself no more than a year ago.
>>494 Think that was back on 8prime for a time.
