This are all my oldfag opinions. Posting since 2006. I have been slowly lurking more and more since 2016 and then almost nothing after 2020.
My primary boards was /v/ and /vg/ for one video game board I still had interest, but it was fairly remote.
Now that my background is out of the way 4chan is overloaded with way too many problems these days to make it interesting for discussion. People who turned 18 in the last 5-10 years went there and thought "culture" is the only thing good about it, and pressure everything to be a giant war of memes. At the same time the mods and jannies all have terrible bias, even if we ignore anything monetary that could be going on.
8chan resembles a much younger 4chan and has better features. I am not saying the younger posters will stay here (they won't) but oldfags may consider staying here because they don't need the dopamine of max posted threads every half hour, with dozens of (if not half the board) of repeated garbage every day.
I will probably stay here if at least 10 of my vg friends stay, that would be enough but based on my observations at least 30-50 are thinking about sticking around, which would be half of the nonshitposters we usually had. The other half would have to go back to retarded jannies, post cooldowns, post timers and random thread deletions/bans.
I won't try to keep anyone here, I just recommend thinking about the positives.
