I use it and usually enjoy it, though I don't use it as much as I did back in the day. I've been going there since like 07 and I know a lot of people from back then who were more or less known to a cluster of people or more. To be honest a lot of people including modern recent channers have miniscule perspective compared to people like myself to be honest. I'm trying not to give any offense here. The sheer levels of change that I've witnessed online--along with its growing, explosively growing pace of influence on the real world--the two are a lot more intertwined today than it was 20 years ago--the breadth of what people like myself and my friends have bared witness to, makes the current standard of what I see other anons complaining about with 4chan, seem negligible compared to what happened to the rest of the internet at large. 4chan has always had a constantly shifting internal atmosphere. I've done some janitor work there and modding on other smaller *chans from back in the day. I've been a part of groups that archive stuff from imageboards and similar forums and we've gotten some content accepted into university library collections. It was a huge part of my childhood and I had a lot of friendships that were largely in one way or another associated with the website, and I continue to use it and find ways I can enjoy it.

4chan died when the best users left in 2014. 4chan anno 2025 is absolutely garbage, and I am not simply talking about the userbase, but the site itself. It feels like the site is now deliberately designed to be as unusable as possible. There are so many wordfilters that will trigger their censorship you are either forced to resort to resort to Newspeak self-censoring or just not post it. You cannot link to anything anymore, so what is the point? You cannot mention 8chan, cannot link to archived web sites, and you cannot really share the images you want with all the limitations. It made me sad visiting the site and seeing what it has become now. 4chan has been left to rot since gookmoot took over, the fact it managed to go on for this long without some love is an incredible testament of the user base. My personal opinion is that janny/mods are the sole reason the site is dying and losing its "soul". Moderation team has been taken over by bad actors and people that go against the spirit of 4chan. They delete things they don't like, they ban people they don't like and at the same time they let community destroying psychopaths go on unhinged tirades of spam and shitposting 24/7. It'll be a shame when it comes back up and the same moderation team will still be at the helm and the users will still be prisoners of schizos if they want to browse the boards.
