I agree. I'm the one who posted the link and while I'm kinda "jealous" to those elementary schoolers who have to sit in a car seat like that, same time I feel sorry for them. I mean, if I had children, I would never use one for my 7 years old child (unless they wanted). I think it's just outright humiliating compared to the very small risk getting injured inside car (versus for example just walking outdoors) and being overprotective and bullying backfires severely later.

Where I live, government wasn't so crazy with those lockdowns and whatnot so basically it didn't affect young children at all but adult students were remote schooling and it was pretty though even to them. I can just imagine how bad it could be to young children development.
Talking about bad parenting, another thing which makes me very sad is seeing a toddler given a smart phone or tablet. They can barely even talk but already addicted to their phone :(
