changing guitar strings Anonymous 04/11/2021 (Sun) 18:20:39 No. 27 [Reply]
I bought Martin & Co medium size .013-.056 for my acoustic and I replaced my B string, Did I make a good choice in strings? There are so many brands. Should I cut all the strings or should I replace it one at a time? Also is it normal that the replaced string keeps losing it's tune?
I love elixir strings. Don't know anything else. D'addario sucks afaik.
>>27 >Also is it normal that the replaced string keeps losing it's tune? yup, just play normally and retune it every now and then it will eventually stay in tune
>>27 if you just replaced them pull the string out a bit at the 12th fret and keep playing and retuning

Sup niggas, any book which includes early industrial music? I wanna listen the stuff on "release order" to experience the evolution (and to stop being a normalfag who has only listened to Skinny Puppy, Depeche, NIN and Foetus)
(199.81 KB 770x764 folder.jpg)

>>300 I admittedly dunno what books on industrial are there, but considering it's such a niche genre (especially the early stuff) that still gets some people arguing over what counts, it might be hard to find a good one. There's one by Alexander Reed that I know some people like, but that's way more of an analysis book than an album catalog. You want early industrial? Then the logical start is Throbbing Gristle, they coined the genre name and all. You'll hardly find an earlier release that fits than Second Annual Report (although if you wanna really nerd it, then you can probably find traces of industrial already in shit like Velvet Underground, Suicide and generally sound collage/noise artists). They got live shows before that album if you wanna go even older. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nz-ys0Uwpos Besides that, Cabaret Voltaire, SPK and Nurse With Wound are as early as you get. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WN_iXS2GtHQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nb1urLRLpYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZWmYEUoweg Neubauten also kick off few years after these, although their take on industrial is quite different (still important though). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cz8lqWdpJPw Also, listen to the first Foetus album. This is still only the real early stuff, if I had time, energy, and guarantee that you care, I could go off about what's after these, but for now this is probably enough.

Albums where you rate all the songs 5 stars Anonymous 04/19/2025 (Sat) 06:20:37 No. 280 [Reply]
Remember that old feature on iPods where you can rate a song 1-5 stars? Does anyone else have two albums they would rate all the songs a perfect 5? For me, they are "Reaching Into Infinity" by Dragonforce and "American V: A Hundred Highways" by Johnny Cash.

Death Metal with positive life lessons Anonymous 04/19/2025 (Sat) 06:09:37 No. 277 [Reply]
I used to be a fan of death metal with just pure blood and guts like Cattle Decapitation (whom I regret being a fan of) but lately I find myself liking oldschool death metal like Death. They started off as edgy teenagers writing about death and violence but their later works have a deep meaning, like Crystal Mountain. They matured the exact same way I did.
>>277 symbolic's one of those metal albums that i've been listening to my whole life and it still gets a listen every month or so.

Download Music Perre 07/22/2022 (Fri) 22:09:13 No. 68 [Reply]
Hi, looking for a site to download music in high quality: I-tune like or something else... It's for a DJ set. Thx, Pierre

soulseek. but use a third party client they're a lot better. i use nicotine+. if its for a dj set and you need to make sure you're getting a high quality rip: go to soulseek settings and set the minimum bitrate to like 320k or something. you might need to lower this if you're trying to find something that was only released on casette. go on https://www.discogs.com/ find the album's catalog id(s) for the pressings you want (cd are best) search them on soulseek instead of the album name if you get spam add the band/album name if you get no results try altering the spacing, removing spaces, or a different catalog id download it in lossless, highest bitrate possible ideally this way you know exactly which pressing you're getting. a lot of albums have been remastered or slightly altered with reissues a zillion times. then finally listen to the music and make sure you didnt get a mislabeled file if you can't find the album by catalog id and have to deal with mystery meat downloads, download every copy and listen to them and try to find one that isn't a loudness war era shitty repress if you can.
also looking at the file in audacity really quick is a good way to tell if the pressing you downloaded is a shitty blasted out butthole loudness war era one, and finding which is the best. you can just download 1 or 2 tracks from everyone sharing the file and compare them in audacity to find the best one if you're dealing with mystery meat rips (often the case with obscure stuff) also search at different times of day if you can't find what you want. & make sure you have ports forwarded and your library shared or some people won't let you dl their shit. t. autistic about my music.
1 more pro gamer tip if someone has good well categorized rips with catalog ids and the kind of music you're looking for, right click user and look at their library manually if they let you. sometimes search sucks and their shares won't show when you try searching for them but you can find stuff that way.
