>>224 you're low int. keep working on your values more, try to have cleaner value distinction between your large vertical planes and your more horizontal ones. use more reference/inspiration in your works, take more time on your works, and get feedback from an art community on your works. I know you can paint better clouds than that.
>>224 like the other anon said, you're not bad. Do more value studies, read Loomis' figure drawing book and try to learn to divide between light and shadow. Steve Huston is also a good resource. You'll improve a lot ;)

Anime Studying: >Copy anime references exactly and draw them from memory. Use illustrations, screenshots, anime figures, 3D models, etc. >Don’t copy recklessly. Use construction, color theory, and other fundamental concepts to rehearse a drawing process that you can later easily manipulate for original artwork. >Post all of your anime studies. Post even when you’re told not to. I did get a tablet though, so maybe I'll try out digital figgies and post them.

Post your current drawing here and give constructive critique to others! Don't take anything personal! Please make sure your posted image is clear, downsized to around 2000 pixels wide, rotated to the correct orientation, and that any unused space is cropped. If you want critique on a drawing from the previous thread, you can delete it there and repost in this one. >/ic/ Resources/Reference/Downloads/Links: >STICKY: Completed: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Vm4IJpq0Mbvb-Krl5_mJ_m6TsC_qjsaN/view New collaborative: https://hackmd.io/UMnZVhNITW-T2wZpHw6d0Q w/ic/i: https://sites.google.com/site/ourwici/ Hardcore: https://hackmd.io/7k0XRnIQR6SValR77TDfZw?view >WHERE to get study materials annas-archive.org >>>/ic/artbook >>>/ic/video

I'm PJ and these are my drawings. PJ 04/17/2025 (Thu) 01:04:42 No. 36 [Reply]
(By the way new anons, you can post more than one image per reply). Am I the best artist in the world? Not at all. Do I like my drawings? Yes, they give me peace and fulfillment. I'd like to be able to draw more professionally but I'm not dissatisfied with my art style. I tend to focus on my own world and characters. I've been building them for a while because I want to make video games about them. But I do like my art, even though sometimes I get a bit down on myself for not being 'as good as I should be' at my age. My main tools for art are an intuos pro medium, Autodesk Sketchbook (yeah... I don't know why either, I've just been using it for years) and Aseprite. I do this kind of digital drawing and pixel art. I'd describe my style as somewhere between anime and western cartoon although I seldom draw non-anime style. I'd like to learn though.

/mmg/ - Manga Making GEneral Anonymous 04/18/2025 (Fri) 05:58:12 No. 117 [Reply]
The general thread for Manga / manga-styled comic-making, manga-style illustration and related comic work. That said, everyone is welcome here. Support each other and talk about your work or the work of others that excites you. Inking, character design, paneling / layout, writing, planning, and other discussions are all welcome. Post resources, questions, in-progress pages, breakdowns of other works, etc. If a work is not yours, credit the maker (unless it's fucking obvious like a full page of One Piece or something). Thanks to everyone for making /mmg/ a level-headed and helpful place. Remember, drawing and making comics and manga are difficult endeavors, and we're all in this struggle together. Some western / indie publishers of Manga: Saturday AM ( https://www.saturday-am.com/ ) > Digital indie magazine, seems to be on the up-and-up > Open submissions for long-form series; also distributes series currently being published elsewhere. > Regularly publishes one-shots, making it a good potential outlet for already-finished work. Oni Press ( https://onipress.com/ ) > Technically indie, but at this point large enough by comic standards to be mentioned in the same breath as other publishers. Antarctic Press ( https://antarctic-press.myshopify.com/ ) > Longtime large-indie publisher of OEL / manga-esque books. > Seemingly taking submissions at present if http://www.antarctic-press.com/html/submissions.php is anything to go on. Yen Press ( https://yenpress.com/ ) > Started out as a small indie publisher of original / Korean material, and has grown reasonably popular since. > As of 2016, it is also one of the western arms of the Kadokawa Corporation, with Kadokawa owning a 51% stake.

Other open comic publishers: Dark Horse ( https://www.darkhorse.com ) >Dark Horse still welcomes your submissions, and all submissions will still be reviewed, just as they always have been. >All unsolicited story/series proposals must have a full creative team on board. Writer-only proposals will not be reviewed. Image comics ( https://imagecomics.com/ ) >Image Comics only publishes creator-owned material. They do not contract creators; they’re only interested in publishing original content for which you would retain all rights. >Image Comics publishes creator-owned/creator-generated properties and THEY DON’T PAY PAGE RATES. Search "brush (from:artisthandle)" or "assets.clip-studio.com (from:artisthandle)" on twitter if that's where they post mainly. Make sure to set it to the Latest tab to see the artist's tweets. Or use Nitter. 2.) Search brush posts on their Pixiv Fanboxes/Booth/Patreon. Then try to see if it's on kemono or archives. 3.) If none of the searches work, then ask here.
