NTA but the threads are just way slower in general. Instead of 10 posts being in one thread, with Anon's talking to each other and shooting the shit, making greentexts and whatever, having fun conversations that add to the thread, you get 10 posts in 10 different threads, which makes everything feel slow because there's way less interaction, and it makes it less fun to engage in the board at large.
On /d/, you could easily get like 30-50 posts in the main thread per day, and another 30 stretched between the other two threads.
You could even argue the split between like the Gentle and main thread back in the day lowered the quality of posting because there was less crossover and conversation because of it. Having god knows how many threads, like here, is like that on steroids. Everyone spreads out too much, and when everything is too spread out, it becomes dead.
On 8chan it's even worse because:
>Check PPH
>0 PPH
>Assume board is dead and don't check it
Hyper-specialization is what kills boards since activity is what image boards thrive on. Only thing /gts/ has that /d/ didn't is the loli thread, which ironically gets the most activity because it's filling a general niche that didn't exist in /d/ bc of 4chan rules
Still, someone should think about making a /d/ board just to increase the global activity and getting people to check in every now and again and contribute a post or two.
