A lot of second and third world countries rely upon tourism or manufacturing to fund their entire economies, and they do this by jacking up prices foreigners have to pay for goods and services (
That their own people would scream bloody murder about if they were charged those rates). And we in the West don't tend to notice nor care about this because of them still being so "cheap" in comparison.
