I always look back at 4chan starting when i think of how to get people, and the trick with that was it was mostly Something Awful users, people who were bullied into having a sharp wit and strong photoshop skills, and giving them the free range anarchy of an imageboard. What would help is to find a place with funny and/or creative sorts who are sick of being restrained and let them loose in a place where they could put themselves in almost absolute control of their own board; the only problem is most populated places nowadays are full of bitches and faggots so it may not be worth it and also creative sorts are usually hard liberal in this bizarre era where you have to be exceptionally progressive AND shout it all the time or else you're a bad person. Personally i think the dream died back with cloudflare pulling the plug so i'm not really concerned with recruitment either way; maybe those /v/attletoads douchebags will pull something out someday and it'll be a fresh new feather in our cap.
